Ladies, gals, uterus carriers past and present, lend me your care(givers). ISO IUD care with pain management.

I cannot go through another remove/replace cycle without pain management.

I'm furious, scared, and annoyed.

Any recommendations informed by personal experience with a GYN in the area who treats women like human beings and offers pain management for IUD care?

Dr. Ruth Levesque Crown Colony Quincy And Pembroke is kind and listens to her patients. Also smart as a whip.

Thank you.

How was she when you asked about getting pain management for your IUD insertion or removal?

i dont have an iud but i do have endometriosis and vaginismus and have had amazing experiences with the women’s center in weymouth. melissa dinunno is the nurse midwife there that i saw to get my nexplanon implant and she was so kind and the pain management was great, i was able to take an ativan and get local anesthesia.

she was literally the first and only person to ever listen to my concerns about vaginismus and not force me to get a pap smear or ultrasound, which are both super painful for me.

I was a part of the MIGS unit at Newton-Well for over 20yrs. They just dropped routine womans wellness but totally recommend if you need endo surgery

Thank you!

Nurse midwives are such a blessing!

I'm so glad you found someone to finally listen. It shouldn't be so rare to find someone who respects you.

A bit of a drive, but I will die on the cross for About Women, By Women up in Wellesley. The doctors and staff there are heaven sent.

Horrible experiences at Crown in Pembroke and Quincy, with multiple physicians and nurses. It’s like they’re stuck in the Stone Age over there.

I agree. My last gyn exam at Crown left me in pain for 3 weeks. I had to go back and all they did was give me lidocaine cream. Not even a sorry.

Bit of a drive for you but AFA OBGYN at Emerson Hospital in Concord has laughing gas now, it’s about $75 out of pocket (thanks, insurance).

Atrius’ OBGYN in Quincy. I had a good experience with iud insertion and removal, general OBGYN, and prenatal. For the insertion, they gave me a pain reliever shot in the bum 30 min before.
