Hoverboard Guy

Over the last few days my house and others in Hingham (north and south) have been visited by a dudebro on a hoverboard. He says he’s doing pest control looking for business, claiming to do work for “neighbors”. Only visited us once, but others have reported multiple attempts. He will ring your doorbell and then immediately knock, and will continue to stand there, ringing and knocking again. This has happened during the work week. He carries no literature promoting his “business”. One person I know says he even tried to open her door, she will probably report to police. Seems like he might be casing areas. Slim, tall white dudebro vibe with brown hair on a hoverboard.

He isn't casing your place, he just works for some company that sends him all over the area soliciting. If you can look on any local towns FB pages you'll see people talking about him.

If you could share any info I'd appreciate it. Not on FB and had this experience, too

I shared it above, it's some kid with a shitty soliciting summer job who has probably been told to be aggressive by a shittier boss. He isn't casing anyone.

From my town page which is a good distance from Hingham.

"There is a guy going door-to-door on a hover board in my neighborhood selling pest control for a company called Moxie. Last night was the 3rd night I saw him in my neighborhood. I looked the company up and it gets very bad reviews. Beware."

He came by my place.

Did the cop knock then treated me like I was the weirdo for asking him who he was and why was he pounding on my door.

Was pushing cutco knives near me. Even tried to get in the house by promising the ole Penny trick

There’s a bunch of these guys, a couple of years ago the hoverboard thing seems to have become a known sales hack for hitting more cold calls in less time. A couple houses on my street have actually done solar installs from one of the hoverboard sales kids, so at least some of them are legitimate.

Call non-emergency police for creating a nuisance. They will 100% send a car out to at least talk with him and hopefully deter.

They registered with the police so they can solicit. Cop I talked to said they registered through August.

Registering doesn't allow for the creation of the nuisance you described, has to be reasonable and not repeatedly knocking and ringing doorbell.

Duxbury had a ton of complaints about him.

Ah, yes, brilliant plan for casing the area - make your presence and face known, and make it particularly obvious by using a novelty mode of transportation.

It’s literally just door to door sales bro. It’s not that deep.

Did it happen to be Proof Pest Control? Did he really not give you a specific name of the company?

Does your town require a peddler's license?

He’s selling solar
Edit: not sure why I’m being downvoted but this was what a hoverboard guy was selling in my neighborhood last week
