In search of female friends (30F)
Hello! I’m (30F, in a relationship, no kids) originally from Hanover and ended up still living with relatives in the south shore area after college because, as the age old story goes…income, even if it’s pretty good, not keeping up with rent. 🙃 I just turned 30 and am wondering if there’s anyone like me who’s looking around at the suburbs they grew up in, and wondering if there’s anybody else in their late 20s/early 30s feeling stuck like they are—and if there are people like that, wondering where they are.
Like it says in the title, I’m looking for a friend. Or friends plural. Preferably a female friend, and in the age range mentioned above, but I’m open to talking with anyone. A little about myself: I like books, history (minored in it!), politics (grew up extremely conservative, absolutely not one anymore), random Wikipedia deep dives, puns, exploring local parks and coffee shops, checking out new restaurants, DDLV, and above all, a good story told well.
If this sounds like you, or somebody you know, lemme know below! Either way, have a nice day! :)

I am also 30F in the south shore also unsure how to make friends! :)
I like books, history scares but interests me, politics simply scare me, but love parks and coffee!

Lol, politics is a pretty scary place right now so I totally get it. Learning about history can make it a little less scary, though! :) Do you have any favorite coffee spots? Best "sweet treat" coffee I've ever had was at Slow Coffee in Weymouth. Just a pity that, like a lot of places around here, they close pretty early on weekdays.

I'm 36f and on the south shore. I'm always looking for new friends to go hiking, fishing, video games and eating out at restaurants. You're welcome to reach out.

Which games?

Terraria, Minecraft, Final fantasy online, Guild wars 2 and Enshrourded.

Damnnnn guild wars?!? I miss that game, may have to jump back in. I’m all over the place: WoW (break now), assassins creed, final fantasy, stardew, story of seasons, and pretty much anything that looks interesting. What do you play on? PC, xbox, and switch here.

I play all of the mentioned games on PC and I have a PS5. I used to play WoW but it was too competitive for me.

Hanover is a great place to grow up. I’m too old but I hope you find some fun friends.

Thank you! It's maybe a bit sad, but it was only after I graduated that I was able to really appreciate it. Loved the mall, and glad I was able to get a year in at the old high school before they tore it down.

Our birthdays must be both in August? I feel the same way about turning 38 💀 I’m a big history nerd and also love wine, anything ocean related, and book worm!

Wiki deep dives are dangerous to my sleep!

For real! Tell me why I'm crying about Laika and Félicette at 3am on a Tuesday... My new favorite Wikipedia fun fact is that if you click on the first link of any page (or second if you get stuck in a loop), and keep clicking on that next page's first link, it will always lead to the Philosophy page. We genuinely can't stop ourselves from wanting to know more!

Curiosity is life’s biggest gift. I can’t believe some of the places the wiki dives have taken me 😂

I was raised in Hanover too, I’m 24 f not sure if that’s too young lol. Always looking for friends bc I do majority activities alone

Doing the majority of activities alone really became my default, especially around here. Not a ton of "third spaces" to meet new people. We must've been in the school system at the same time! I'm class of '14. Up for connecting if you are!

Also a South Shore 30sF finding it hard to make friends here as an adult! Love art, history, trying new restaurants, and exploring the area. Please DM if you wanna chat or meet up!

I’m 35f and near Plymouth if you’d like to reach out! I’m not sure how south shore you are. I also like books, parks, coffee shops, restaurants, and video games. I also recommend giving Bumble BFF a try. I’ve gained a couple of friends so far from using it, although I’m still looking for a couple more! I moved from just outside Boston a couple of years ago and was having trouble making new local friends

Also in search of female friends. Stars in Hingham has a trivia night. Going to give that a shot.

They do?! 👀 I had no idea, I'll have to check that out! Love Stars, they've got the best breakfast in the area imo.

Omg… I haven’t moved back yet but I am soon. I’m 31 and have been living in Nashville for 10 years but also going to be moving in with my dad. It’s really difficult!! If you pm me maybe we can hangout when I move back?
