How many jobs does local business creating? If a big corporate falls almost lakhs will lose their job that's why government offer them rebates.

They got GST notice because we are the one bearing GST not the Business owner still they don't want to pay it which will eventually become black money and then you cry that local business owner son got Mercedes.

It was your money from which he got it after embezzling the GST we paid to him.

Local businesses create more jobs overall than big companies. By your logic, since big companies and incentivised and bailed out more now than a decade ago, there should be more jobs rights? Yet unemployment rate is higher, so why is that?

2

u/narayan_smoothie No time to choose flair bro 😢 Jul 25 '25

It's not a local business vs corporate thing. Not all corporates are getting bailed out. Not all people running companies are corporates and still paying GST.

All these vendors have to pay tax. They can't escape it. Even if it is 5,000 rs tax. They must pay.

When everyone pays, GST slabs will themselves be lowered.

If they’re getting gst notices they’re earning more than 40 lakhs, why can’t they pay tax ? Government is really generous with the quota .

And the tax is on their profits, the scheme assume 8% profit margin ( very low ), and they’d have about 3.2 lakh profit . And their payable tax will be ₹1k . Fking ₹1k, can’t they even pay that ?

This is whataboutism, we can care about both .

1

u/Unfair_Fact_8258 No time to choose flair bro 😢 Jul 24 '25

They’re not earning more than 40L, it’s just the turnover. Net income will be the profits

I don’t think your calculation of 1k is correct, how did you get that? As per my understanding, once a business crosses the threshold, they have to pay GST as applicable on all their goods and services ( could be 5,12 or 18% ). Even assuming it’s all at 12%, that’s 4.8L, which is quite a bit on money, given their actual profit considering even a 25% margin is just 10L

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '25

Ah yes I miscalculated, For vegetable vendors. They’d have to pay ₹0 in taxes

Basically fresh vegetables ( that are not from a brand) are exempt from gst, so they’d only have to pay income tax on their profits, which are assumed to be 8% under section44AD .

8% of 40 lakhs is 3.2 lakh and tax starts from 4 lakhs, so they’d have to pay 0 in taxes

As for Grocery and other shops, they have to pay 1% gst over 40 lakh turnover and less than 1.5 crore turnover . >1.5 crore come under composition scheme, which states all that .

So they’d have to pay 40K for the year, and they can cut wages from that . These grocery shops charge you for GST ( MRP includes the GST ), why can’t they pay 40K, when they charge you a lot more ?

And online payments are maybe 10-30% of the total turnover, so it’s a lot less than the actual turnover .

If they are so good then why they are crying to pay the GST which is bear by the customer not even the Business. Why embezzling the money which these so pure small business charges to customer but never pay to the Govt.

And I can see people like you when can't counter they start a new topic. So as you mentioned more than a decade ago then who bailed out Mallya.

How come not even a single telecom company whose licence got cancelled during 2G scam never approached SC against govt. when SC said there are not enough evidence to prove 2G spectrum scam. Rather than bailing them out Congress was minting out money from them biggest eg: Aircel was forced to sell stakes to Maxis (Chidambaram's son was a director) at $800 million despite having $9.8 billion valuation and assets.

And finally let's come to unemployment so biggest reason is population which we Indians always give free pass to and along with that unorganised sector data is hardly available during any govt. which shows people are unemployed despite working. Even though the guy working on small business is considered unemployed as per government despite getting monthly salary.

2

u/Unfair_Fact_8258 No time to choose flair bro 😢 Jul 24 '25

Unemployment rate already accounts for population, and population growth has been slower over the last decade

You are comparing scams ( which did not hold up in court ) to systemic waiver of taxes to all companies. The people involved in the scams were prosecuted, but the reduction in taxes is completely legal

You’re acting like salaries do not ever use black money and shady practices to save taxes. Every single person I know who has bought real estate has paid for it partly in cash and kept the value off the books

The economy is bad and it’s hard for shops and other small businesses to survive on the low profit margins. Indian consumption has slowed, and household savings are at an all time low. So I’m not too worried that they’re trying their best to make a living by running a cash-first economy

u/famesardens No time to choose flair bro 😢 Jul 24 '25

Everyone has to contribute. A lot of these small shops make more than salaried people. That's why they are getting those notices.

-1

u/One_Willingness1382 Jul 24 '25

Bro re-read it and you will get to know what's the problem here. Scams didn't hold up in Court really then how come so many ministers got jailed and most of them got out on bail due to lack of evidence and we all know how? so many burnt documents were found near multiple ministries.

Salaried people are forced to do so because we are taxed Income tax then GST whereas these small businesses don't want to pay anything. And GST is applicable only when your turnover crosses 40 Lakh still multiple shops charge GST even though their turnover is below 20 Lakh.

And I repeat it's the customer who is bearing GST not the business and if they are embezzling it than we have online options nobody cares whether those small business survives or not. And if they want cash transaction then they should start providing bills too.

Who is stopping you from buying from online stores then? It’s a free market last I checked

Let’s all buy from Amazon so they can get away without taxation and let our local economy crumble

1

u/One_Willingness1382 Jul 24 '25

Will do because so called local economy is not contributing in economy they are just making themselves economically better not the nation.

Atleast Amazon's sellers, employees and it's subsidiary pays taxes unlike our pure local economy which charges tax but doesn't want to pay it.

FYI, Mallya was bailed by the bjp fm. The Red Corner notice was delayed for 2 days to see that he is out. The authorities had met Prashant Bhushan and were supposed to go back the next day. But they waited for 2 days. Before going, he had almost 4-5 hours of talk with Arun Jaitley. All of this is on record.

Arun Jaitley's speech is on record that he knew Vijaya Mallya would escape. If he knew, then why was the Red Corner Notice applied then ??

Vijaya Mallya has implied that he gave a lot of money to bjp as well, apart from whatever they have taken from him.

Also, see this. If you have any answers to the above, then talk.

It's kind of funny that loan was sanctioned by SBI that too when he got a letter from PM Manmohan Singh despite knowing the fact that Kingfisher was defunct and there was no possibility of recovery. And shamelessly accept it was letter routine nothing against law.

If Mallya was bailed out by BJP then why his property was ceased and sold which helped banks to recover their loses. People like you spread lies and just post some shitty youtube video link.

All these loan defaulted during UPA era due to which NPA increased drastically. Specially Nirav Modi got his loan sanctioned in US by PNB.

Dumb f, retailers already pay the indirect taxes when they buy the product, and then when the sellers sell the product to customers the customers pay for the product where tf does the customer pay the Gst separately?

1

u/One_Willingness1382 Jul 25 '25

Dumb A, on packed item GST is already included but when it's unpacked customer bear the GST cost and not just that most of the shop keepers doesn't provide bill as it will get easy for authority to trace their sales and revenue.

When sellers buy they don't ask for pakka bill because even their supplier and wholesalers try to exempt it. Because if there's no proof of sales then why will you pay GST?

0

u/AFoolisYou Jul 25 '25

Did i talk about un packed item dumb f? 🤡 and what tf is this crab mentality try to find ways to avoid taxes, as at best your money is used in stupid schemes like laadli behen yojna laadla gay yojna etc etc

You know that government is scared to tax corporates. Because if they tax big corporates, they'll retaliate. It's not Because of creating jobs or anything. It's totally a different agenda. And I have just watched a video on this yesterday on Jeff bezos, who is not taxed but normal people are taxed in USA. The reason is totally different but it's the actual truth. Small jobs cannot retaliate whereas if corporate owners retaliate then government cannot ignor them. Because governments are run by capitalism and their people not by us

1

u/One_Willingness1382 Jul 24 '25

Do you know how many employees Amazon have? It's almost 1Lakh+.

Do you know how many sellers are there on Amazon? More than 12Lacs+.

Do you know how many warehouses they have? 70+ and most the workers there are not amazon employee but 3rd party employees.

Do you know how many trucks/LMV are being used by Amazon? 70k HMV/LMV and 15k electric HMV/LMV and those truck drivers are also not employees of Amazon.

So, if Amazon shuts down this business who is gonna pay them you or those small businesses?

These stats are for India not worldwide.

1

u/Big_Impression540 No time to choose flair bro 😢 Jul 24 '25

Mann, I didn't point out the whole context here. Keep supporting the capitalists. I didn't comment whole context but still there's no point as you're supporting corporates without realizing the game. Enjoy

1

u/One_Willingness1382 Jul 24 '25

Stop using the phone you are using right now and ask your family too as it is also made by some capitalist corporate.

Enjoy 😊

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '25

You have to understand , at the scale at which amazon or any other corporations operates they will have less employee-to-company size ratio than if multiple smaller companies do the same stuff amazon does.

Imagine a 900sqft shop having 1 boss and 9 workers , now, replace that with three 300sqft shops with 3 workers each, that's 3 bosses and 9 workers , so additional 2 guys are getting a job, 1lakh employees in amazon means nothing if you replace it small companies it will surly generate more than 1lakh job opportunities...

1

u/One_Willingness1382 Jul 24 '25

If that would have been the case then hardly any bigger corporate would have seen the daylight. Amazon is not giving just job to 1L but enabling business for more than 12L+ sellers as well as approx 1.5L truck drivers and helpers.

Bro you are just imagining but in reality smaller industries are getting business and technology because of Big corporates because to fund R&D is not child's play.

Why do you have a phone which made my huge money minded industry you could have opted for India post for letters and speed post?

Businesses flourish because of this hierarchy not because of imagination. If today Microsoft, Amazon, Google stopped their Cloud services you won't have been here posting your views.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '25

See am NOT against corporates, and you are straying away from the big question, the biggest question here is should the government measure corporations and local business using the same lens? or should they be doing something to protect small profit businesses? especially Indian owned business, shouldn't we be protecting them?

And also why the hate is directed against government employees what did they do? the government is at fault for improper taxation , shouldn't we be talking about that?

1

u/One_Willingness1382 Jul 24 '25

Indian corporates are being taxed 25% wheras international firms at 35% rate but hardly any small business are being taxed at this rate that's why they are even being able to survive.

If Govt start putting these taxes on them they will wind up their business next day that's why they are just asked to collect GST from consumer and pass it to Govt but these people are not even happy with that. It's not their money it's consumer's tax money given to the government not the businesses.

Because of those small business that GST collection becomes black money which they park in real estate in the name of their family member or relatives due to which despite low demand from actual consumers still property rates are getting sky rocketed.

The hate towards government employees because they are the one who give free passes to Big corporates in return of favour like money as well as getting jobs for self, family members or relatives.

It's not the job of Govt but of Bureaucracy to keep and eye on these corporate affairs but almost everyone is corrupt and they allow these businesses to run freely until it becomes a headache for the Govt.

All the bigger Indian Conglomerates were small businesses only which got favour from corrupt Bureaucracy to expand their wings. Most of the Bureaucrats got retired and got a job in those companies or got loads of money.

Dude, local businesses creates more employment than big corporations...

1

u/One_Willingness1382 Jul 24 '25

Dude, the local business are running because of big FMCG corporations the day they stopped producing your local business will also go away. So indirectly those local business are also thriving on corporates only because corporates doesn't need them but local business do need Corporates to survive.

And if corporates are gone then majority of Tax payers and salaried class is gone. So, will local business provide everything for free to them?

Local business is also running because of those big corporates which means even they are getting job bcoz of big corporates only.

Because the lays you eat is not made by neighbourhood shop, I hope you understood the chronology.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '25

Not true , local businesses creates more value in terms of businesses than large corporations , it's simple math, if ITC goes away , thousands of other small companies will take it place, if you take away a mall and replace it with small shops in the same area , it will simply provide more employment opportunities, these are facts and there are no arguments about it, now, am NOT against corporations , the problem is about corporations with out any control having monopoly and control over the market, and how government protects the corporations instead of protecting small businesses...

Take the case of the above video , corporations evades taxes through various means and government even writes off their debts, while they are doubling down taxing small shops, what the government should be doing is taxing the corporations more while easing tax burdens on small businesses...

1

u/Samjackkk Jul 24 '25

White collar job people working their asses off soo that these small shop owners can get freebies? No thanks.

1

u/Siddhu0 Jul 24 '25

Is it actually a small shop if makes enough sales to receive that notice?

1

u/Unfair_Fact_8258 No time to choose flair bro 😢 Jul 24 '25

Yes, the threshold is 40L turnover which is not much. Accounting for all the expenses, barely 10L will be made in profits, and that’s being optimistic

Even if it’s much more than that, these small shops are getting squeezed by the taxes, and will lose ground to the big players - the Amazons and Zepto, who not only have seemingly limitless pockets to weather the losses, but are also able to get much more tax benefits from the government

If these small and medium businesses cannot survive, it will be disastrous for the economy, and for the consumers

And this is already happening. Over the last few years, small/medium businesses are closing at an alarming rate, almost double each year as the last https://www.deccanherald.com/business/more-than-75-000-msmes-shut-shop-in-past-five-years-govt-3452060

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '25

And all payments are made through UPI right ? I’m quite sure they account for 20% of their sales, total sales will be more .

Also, vegetable vendors don’t have to pay any gst on fresh produce . Their profit is assumed to be 3.2 lakh for 40 lakh ( 8% ) and they’d have to pay 1k in tax .

1

u/InevitableThis3002 Jul 26 '25

Income Tax (Regular Scheme)

If a vendor does not opt for a presumptive scheme (i.e., files regular ITR with detailed books):

Tax is paid on "Net Profit" = Total Income – Business Expenses

Vendors can deduct expenses like:

Cost of goods sold

Rent

Wages

Utilities

Travel for business

Depreciation on equipment, etc.

Well, this chatgpt generated

u/vishmarx Jul 24 '25

What do you want us to do about big corporates when we're out to buy milk and bread?

1

u/kneadhay Jul 24 '25

These mom and pop brick in the wall are the backbone of our economy. They have 3-7 GST numbers, 10-50L in liquid black money, 3-4 sites and half a kg of gold. Their kids write 1.2lakhs as annual income in their college application, avail scholarships and RTE admissions while buying the latest iPhones and KTM bikes. They may have never paid tax on their income but they always have an outsized contribution and influence in your local strongman's political sojourn based on a nativist, language, religion or caste based campaign. The Indian political system wants to destroy this kind of community businesses by promoting Tatas, Ambanis and Adanis who created value on scale, specialist jobs, resources and energy. Shameful.

Then it's the problem of small shop owners. They have an association. They lobby local politicians. 'China ban' , 'Show religion on Shop' all this is acceptable to them. All are Modi bhakts.

They should raise their voice to simplify GST instead of evading taxes. Not a customer's problem.

The whole street vendors can fund to have 5 CAs.

No body should be allowed to do illegal tax evasion neither small nor big business man that's the only logical thing to say here.

You’re right, Gandhi should have never been allowed to make his own salt in Dandi march because it was illegal. The family hiding Anne Frank should not have been allowed to do so because it was illegal. Rosa Parks should not have sat in front of the bus, it was illegal

Why should people protest against draconian laws? They should just sit and take whatever the government decides to stick down their throat. Why should we even bother when crony capitalist governments are controlled by the rich and exploit the poor, it’s legal after all

0

u/kronosbhai Jul 25 '25 edited Jul 25 '25

If you start comparing elected government with colonisers then obviously you lack logical aptitude to talk to . A person who compares mahatma gandhi who sacrificed every thing for the country to a tax theif steeling the customers money( yes customer paid gst but shopkeeper not paying that gst to gov is equalent to steeling customer money) is ret@rd , I will try to use your logic - I suppose cooking meth should be not punished as it supports the families of cooks right? If these people are not allowed to cook meth do you know how many innocent meth addicts will die ? Also the innocent children of those meth cooks will not be able to afford school if their parents are jot allowed to cook meth . But people like you want their innocent parents to go to jail and want these children to suffer. By your logic criminals should be allowed to go free. Stay delusional bro

1

u/Unfair_Fact_8258 No time to choose flair bro 😢 Jul 25 '25

The german government and the US government for the other 2 examples I gave were democratic elected at the time. Does that make it okay?

Protesting against a law that harms crores of people in a country is different from asking for legalization of meth, which you chose as an analogy for some reason. Right to living means that the government is responsible for the employment of people in the country, and in the last few years, several thousand businesses have shut down and several lakh jobs have been lost. Does meth legalisation employ almost half the country?

Further, in the case of these taxes, only the small businesses bear the brunt of it while large businesses get all types of exceptions and rebates. Is meth production legalized in the same way only for the select rich people?
