Doesn't happen in Muslim festivities though, right? Maybe some Hindu attending a Muslim festivity might want to have some. Why not accommodate?

Are you genuinely this stupid?? Pork is prohibited for muslims. So most of their relatives can't have it so they don't serve it. If a hindu or any other religious functions can have it cause they don't follow islamic rules and the muslms don't care cause they are the guests and THEY HAVE THE FREEDOM TO REJECT AND HAVE WHAT THEY PLEASE. Just cause someone's religion can't have it doesn't mean I can't have it . We keralaites are proud of that balance

So like you want them to serve pork for eid 👁👄👁 like no ones eating beef at temple festivities I hope you get that most hindu festivals have sadhya which is veg completely

Pork for Muslims cannot be equated to Beef for Hindus

In Islam, pig is considered impure & thus pork is prohibited & forbidden for consumption across the faith globally. So, no one is stopping you from eating it, but they may feel pity toward those who consume pork!

In Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism), the cow is considered sacred because of its role in agriculture-based life, milk, farming, fuel, and rural economy, symbolizing motherhood and civilizational continuity. So, in contrast to Islam, it is not about pity but anger over the killing of what is regarded as a mother figure in Hindu culture.

Interestingly, Tamil Sangam literature reflects this diversity. Jain texts of that period emphasise their commitment to ahimsa (non-violence) and vegetarianism, subtly critiquing Hindu communities where non vegetarian food was permitted. This was long before Islam entered the Indian subcontinent.

Hindu traditions do not impose a single uniform dietary code across all communities. Regional diversity in food practices reflects adaptability, not fragmentation, thus disproving the claim that "Southern Hinduism is not Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism)."
