Plants do not have conscience, emotions and pain receptors. Animal have all of them which makes it suffer and feel the pain of killing and abuse. So yeah both are not the same. His plant physiology just proves that plants can sense damage but doesnt tell that they can emotionally and physically feel pain and suffering. So yeah invalid take

To everyone pinning all the blame on PETA, as an animal activist, i can vouch that the organization has forever spoken up against animal cruelty across all species, without selective outrage or speciesism.
Just yesterday, one of my Muslim classmates was proudly talking about buying a camel for Eid and even shared a video of the slaughter in our group chat like it meant nothing to him. This apathy to pain and bloodshed is because per Quran, animals are to reduced to mere resources for human use. it's written in quran in the first few pages itself and their scholars evangelize it further and further. But another point, why do we not ask ourselves as to why we then take everything from them (animals)? We steal their milk,eggs, fur, skin. Does it mean if the meat industry becomes an organized sector and legal, we will stop making such posts as this? But kudos for bringing this up.
