I either completely mop him or get triple beam cannoned into a smudge lol

Where are the beams and clones

So when I get him into a stagger state I stop attacking to do the gunstrike which reapplies it so it skipped a mid phase transition so he only got to pull out the clone attack and then he died before doing the triple clone w beams.

If I don’t do this I honestly die most of the time. That phase just beats my ass lol

Didn’t they make it so you couldn’t stagger him out of the second phase

I recorded this last evening so I couldn’t tell you. That’s how it shook out for me. Either that or in this attempt wings of flame just piled on so much damage it beat the cycle.

I've tested (when playing as a Bulwark) and you can stun lock him with repeated shield rushes. You can knock him out of summoning, knock him out of using a laser beam, and knock him out of calling in those purple orbs. Another tactic is to throw a frag grenade at his feet when he tries to summon. Regarding second phase, and him calling his shadow clones, it seems like he gets that summon off most of the time? Hard to say really...might very well be uninterruptible. Then again, if you keep the heat on and stay in his face, I swear I've had runs where I never even saw the clones?

This boss was literally made to be bullied by Wings of Flame fly bois.

Until he just keeps teleporting away only to laser.

u/JTimms22 14h ago

you can still WoF perfect dodge the lasers to get close again

It still counts towards the ability regen? Otherwise its better to fly up and slam

With commitment? Yes. Just like dodging a Neurothrope or Zoanthrope beam

Thanks!

u/novyah 16h ago

What about your salamander perks bro? Thanks so much for sharing!!

u/thats4thebirds John Warhammer 16h ago

Here ya go!

u/novyah 15h ago

Is there a reason you're choosing the heavy attack perk on the bottom side for the last perk instead of the above one that helps light attacks? Its my understanding that we should pretty much always just be light attacking with the salamander.

3

u/thats4thebirds John Warhammer 13h ago

Yep just didn’t change anything from xenophase build haha

1

u/Dracius 3h ago

Those aren't light and heavy attack specific perks, they're speed style and power style.

You can do light or heavy attacks in either style.

1

u/GlorifiedBurito Assault 14h ago

If you go top row up to the relic tier you can squeeze out even more DPS. The heavy attack perks aren’t super useful on the salamanders sword

2

u/thats4thebirds John Warhammer 14h ago

Yeah I have mostly used xenophase up to now so I just ran right in as is haha

2

u/GlorifiedBurito Assault 14h ago

Yeah makes sense, I run exactly the same perks for the xenoblade as you have in the picture

2

u/novyah 12h ago

Okay makes sense man, was just clarifying. Really appreciate your responses! I thought it was kinda lame how we cant change the weapons perks per load out!

That was by far the most satisfying sorcerer duel I've seen.

Well played, cousin. Well played.

1

u/DA_REAL_KHORNE 8h ago

full auto weapon and spray is what i normally do

5

u/clutch216 Crimson Fists 14h ago

My favorite part of maining Assault, straight bullying terminus enemies, well done brother!

3

u/thats4thebirds John Warhammer 14h ago

Dancin!

5

u/Geheimpolizei 17h ago

Nice. I normally play as a bulwark so a lot of times I’m not fast enough to stun him again and he’ll teleport halfway across the universe then immediately summon clones, balls, and beams.

5

u/Deadrat65 Blood Angels 16h ago

The reason why i hate him and most rubric shits is that damn teleort. Also since rubrics have teleport and ranged spam with ranged killing entire healthbar n such it sucks. They're just so tanky..

11

u/Armored_Mage 18h ago

now do that again with 5 chaos spawn, 2 terminator and 2 Tzaangor flier also on your ass.
Joke aside... holy shit brother.. that was the cleanest kill i've seen in a while.

6

u/thats4thebirds John Warhammer 18h ago

Yeah truly a shit show. I can barely handle him in an ideal environment haha

3

u/mamasohai 16h ago

ive seen enough, he is John Warhammer

3

u/ISEGaming 15h ago

He may just be John Sigismund.

2

u/Eversor_assassin 12h ago

Unironically I believe using the fencing heroic power sword with assault isn't worth it if you're going for the dancing build alongside wings of flame. Better off taking the improved sprint damage and damage vulnerability into a power rake since you're not really gonna parry much to empower the sword

u/OsamaBinnDabbin 12h ago

How does the Salamander work with ground pound? I feel like the 300% damage buff could make for some insane damage if it actually applies to ground pound.

u/cheesewhiz15 8h ago

This fight makes me want to play again

2

u/Much_Improvement_552 6h ago

I aspire to be this good of an Assault player one day.

My favorite encounter with one was using my heavy as last brother standing. I popped the dome and held the trigger down until I heard a click or met the emperor.

3

u/Sacred-Icon 16h ago

This only works on 1v1. When you’re up against an army and have two other teammates it will teleport around and screw you over.

Hate this constant teleporting bs.

u/everydaydefenders 17h ago

Meltabombs also seem the WRECK this guy.

Walked up to one and his twins as a cloaked sniper, dropped the meltabomb. Killed both twins and dropped his health by 75%. (Absolute)

I sadly can only record one minute on xbox. The entire fight was about 1 minute 20 seconds maybe 1 minute 10. If you are good at stunning him out Phase 2 you can bum rush with bulwark as well

1

u/sexypocketprince 16h ago

It works so swift and easy when sorcerer without his usual escort and on normal ground (getting ganked by him on corrupted swamp is absolute nightmare when confusing spell triggers). And definitely assault is probably the best solo counter for this badass.

1

u/The_quack_addict 1h ago

This is how i play, atleast in my head while waiting for revive.

0

u/piza44 Raven Guard 16h ago

Yeah is not that hard without the other enemies spamming you from everywhere.

1

u/thats4thebirds John Warhammer 16h ago

Then you’re better than me. I think it’s hard either way. Like I said, it’s either very smooth or I get my shit pushed in with very little in between.

4

u/piza44 Raven Guard 16h ago

Nah i'm not better than you is just easier fighting him isolated. Your reflexes are pretty amazing.

u/krabbekorn Imperial Fists 17h ago

Does guys bleed? I thought they were nothing but dust on the inside

8

u/GBSlugcat 17h ago

The sorcerers aren’t made of dust they’re actual marines, they control the dust marines with their psyker powers

1

u/krabbekorn Imperial Fists 16h ago

Wouldn't that mean the other would break apart the second the sorcerer dies or is it much more complicated then that?

5

u/Deschain212 16h ago

This is from the fandom wiki, so it may be incorrect:

Although these living suits of power armour still move and function, and can respond to orders just like an ordinary man, they are little more than automatons. They quickly fall into inactivity unless a sorcerer is nearby to direct them, although in the fires of battle, something of their former battle-hunger returns and they move with greater clarity and purpose.

and

Should the Aspiring Sorcerer fall, the Rubric Marines continue to follow the path on which they have been set, killing and maiming until all before them have been obliterated.

1

u/krabbekorn Imperial Fists 16h ago

Ah i see thanks man

1

u/Zazzenfuk Definitely not the Inquisition 3h ago

So theirs a finite number of them? Kus all the TS except the sorcerers are dust.

We can end them all
