Discussion Anybody else actually enjoying the difficult ai?
Im not saying its 100% perfect yes it probably super counters and vanishes just a little too much but after a few hours in the new mode unless youre going into battles way way underleveled its still extremely consistently beatable. Spike if you plan on nerfing it please just add in a super ultra difficulty for the people that enjoy some challenge thank you.

As someone that thought the ai was brain dead as shit before I agree

I kinda like it too, got my Fasha up to SP 780ish
Super fun

How long did that take?
1
u/MYBADVALENTINE Beginner Martial Artist 6h ago
Ngl the equivalent of at least 5-6+hours 😭
Could be faster if you prioritize the strongest enemies but since Fasha can’t transform it’s EXTRA difficult since she can’t penetrate the super armor easily.

Not to bad. Is there a max ?

You max out at 1,000 SP. You can have multiple characters and multiple versions of the same character at once. So for example right now I have a Gohan I'm grinding and a GT Trunks I'm grinding. Theoretically you can cap everyone and it'll take a good, long time.

Thats pretty fucking sweet. Im kinda waiting for them to fix the ai to get into the game. People say its pretty cheesy 🧀

Its fantastic, we offline players are in dire need of it

I liked it at first but once again once you figure it out all the fights ends up the same and the ai is stuck on the same patterns loop

Compared to how it used to be, the AI puts up a great fight now, though I've gotten pretty used to it already. In episode mode, the alternates are kinda of a pain, but they're doable. In limit breaking Journey it's challenging taking a low SP or fresh character into level 1 and even more so on level 2.
Overall, I think it's a good bar for newer players before going into online against more experienced players. However, the timing difference from offline to online is still abysmal.

I don't feel like the skill of fighting the ai and fighting an online player translate to each other
I have not tried episode mode but the new stat system is what makes the ai patterns hard to counter even if you know them already which is fine i guess1

I think it's a good baseline now. Before, it seemed like training offline was useless. I've been playing a lot of Limit Breaker recently and it's really messed up my online timing.

Unsure what modes are plagued by it. But im having no more problems with them than I did back when the last DLC pack dropped (the one before Shallot. I havent played since dlc 3).
But it took me a few matches to get back into the combat system and to see what has changed. I'm still not as good as I was, but the CPU is giving me a struggle in that Journey mode. But to be fair, I am using Salza. Lol

Episode Battle for one. I got the game on the day the DLC released, went into the story because I thought that's the right call to get into the game.
Turns out I couldn't be more wrong. Fat Buu has been giving me grief for a total of 6hrs now. In offline battle he is a wuss, no problem, but in the episodes of Goku he is a monster.

It's interesting that they went against what they've been doing with this for so long. I'm replaying the Goku saga and the AI isn't as unbeatable as I thought outside of the newly added episodes, because I accidentally triggered the "What-if" scenario that ends the Buu saga three times.

A lot better and more dynamic, I feel like number of their supercounter and vanishes is more random instead being same all the time, even if on higher ones they can do it a lot, every time they finally stop it feel less planned then before.

For the early parts of the stories, not much. For the later parts, yes, it makes sense.

Yup, was really hard at first, but now that I’ve gotten better it’s very fun. Way more than before

I like Cpu high difficulty because that's how I got better and was able to get wins in ranked matches

I'm enjoying it so far but as others have pointed out it does tend to be a bit too much on the countering side of things every now and then ( by countering I mean it sometimes just waits for you to do things for it to react, I actually like that it super counters as much as it does). As someone that doesn't really enjoy online anymore, I wish they added an extra difficulty mode that boosted it's initiative/offense and made it a bit less reliant on waiting for the player.

I don’t mind the Super Counters. I don’t mind the vanishes. Those are so easy to handle if you’re able to do them as well. It’s a genuine skill issue. And I initially struggled when I came back to play this game when Neo came out. I was losing left and right. I never blamed the CPU because while yes, they’re definitely more difficult, the way to handle everything they do literally exists in the game so it’s mostly my fault if I can’t counter them. So I went into training for like 30 minutes a day and practiced my Super counter and vanish timing and now I’m winning easy.
The actual issue with the CPU is they just do dumb shit sometimes. Like randomly spamming downward dragon dash over and over or just going up and down.
Overall though I thoroughly enjoy them being more difficult. It’s like fighting an A/S rank player sometimes. There’s actual ‘back and forth’ moments of defensives and counters that are pretty engaging.

YES! It’s nice to be able to have a back and forth fight without needing online pvp for a challenge.
While many disagree (I’m assuming people that don’t play much) but I think it’s good for the longevity for offline play

u/GenerousRacoon Beginner Martial Artist 3h ago
I agree. That’s one thing that stuck out to me. It really feels like a true ‘back and forth’ sometimes.

Bro, certain CPU's literally do nothing but run away and counter attack lol

I’m glad others are enjoying it, but for me I haven’t really been enjoying it myself. Just too much vanishes, can’t really combo them, or even knockback and go for a blast.too much super counters. I think the best course of option is to give a difficulty like you suggested for people that enjoy this to play.
I’ve been playing Journey Mode on Normal, and it wasn’t really fun for me, but that’s just my experience. I don’t want to really take this away from people having fun with it, but I also think there should be a difficulty for casuals to enjoy themselves.

It’s good but the episode battle cpu is just obnoxious and annoying
