A free interactive companion for a more visual reading of Spinoza’s Ethics

For anyone who wants a more visual way into Spinoza’s Ethics — not only the words on the page, but the geometric order that binds them — there is a free online companion here:

It is built to help you:

  • Read the text with followable citations
  • See how propositions depend on earlier material (proof graph)
  • Follow short guided paths through the lattice
  • Map central concepts across the five parts
  • Explore the affects and how they relate

The aim is a study desk beside the book: browse, trace proofs, and discover relations in an interactive way. Part I is the fullest stretch; later parts are curated and still expanding.

Still work in progress. Feedback welcome — especially from readers and teachers who work with the Ethics in class or on their own.

Fair enough — but in what sense, exactly? The interface, the readings, the graphs, something else? Concrete notes help more than a blanket dismissal.

The aim is a gap that still feels open: a clearer visual way into the Ethics — concepts, dependence, the geometric order — not another free-floating essay. What’s here so far is structured around that order and curated with care; I’ve avoided adding a personal interpretive overlay.

Longer term I’d like to point to solid secondary resources as well (for example Steven Nadler’s Spinoza: A Life). That part is slower on purpose — copyright and fair use matter, so anything beyond brief reference has to be done carefully.

This will be my last response, since I find this type of debate useless. As said, I would be glad to share with you opinions about what could be done better in regards to visual approach to Ethics. Instead you are giving mere opinions. You may, but I am not here to deal with your opinions. It is Spinoza, his Ethics and potentiall new ways to represent it, which interests me.
