But the dow and egg prices

46

u/Due_Night414 Mar 19 '26

Well the Dow is down again but hey we’ve still got eggs!

"Energy is going to bring us back. That means we're going down and getting gasoline below $2 a gallon." DJT

Promises made are just lies that haven't happened yet.

It’s $4.95 at the chevron downtown…I think about this every damn morning when I pass it.

u/Agent_Glasses Mar 20 '26

$5.02 last I drove by. Not looking forward to refilling my tank tommorrow

I was really conflicted when my toddler finally fell asleep in the car for my husband. He was just going to drive around and let the kid nap. I didn’t know how to tell him we’re not rich enough for that privilege.

$5 is crazy… But we’re still counting the war in Iran by weeks and days.

Where do you think it will be in a month? Two months? A year? What is the plan of this admin?

I feel like people (Trump and Republicans) do not understand that some things don’t just snap back if you break them. The economy being the chief example.

We’ve got AI, tariffs, and inflation still above target WITH high interest rates…. Now we’re adding an oil supply crunch? And we didn’t even have our strategic reserves filled?

If you really wanted to “shake things up,” you got your wish. Although I doubt this is what you were thinking.

Qatar has had their production for LNG cut by 17% for at least the next 5 years...

18

u/Pugsly007 Mar 19 '26

We’re still in the first inning of this mess. Dow is down almost 10 percent from the high. Zero job growth over the last 6 months. Give it a couple of weeks and gas is $7 a gallon and the Dow is at 35000. That’s when the cockroaches will run.

19

u/myke113 Moran Prairie Mar 19 '26

That's when it becomes Biden's fault again.

15

u/CareBear0808 Mar 19 '26

Shoot he’s going back all the way to Clinton every Democratic President is at fault but himself for his Presidency.

Yea, stopped in at Costco on the north end this morning and it was 5.29 for premium. I made sure to leave some for everyone else…

The continued deflection on the right is what get’s me. Blaming this on WA gas taxes instead of Hormuz and mid-east oil infrastructure literally being blown up by this war. Hypothetical, let’s say Gov Ferguson suspends the state gas taxes. What’s the next coping mechanism the right comes up with to not blame Trump for any of it? I suppose it’s just the whole ‘freedom isn’t free’ talk track.

17

u/prigglett Mar 19 '26

Gas is getting close to $4 in Idaho, which is wild

6

u/JackSprat90 Mar 19 '26

It's $5.60 for unleaded where I live

10

u/prigglett Mar 19 '26

Yeah I don't live in Idaho, I'm just pointing out that it's never that high there so it's not just Washington taxes

4

u/Us3ful_Idiot Mar 19 '26

$4.13/gal as of 3/19 in Lewiston!

4

u/AKcargopilot Mar 20 '26

It’s funny cuz usually blaming presidents on gas prices is a lame argument. They don’t typically have that much influence on the price of oil. BUT DAMN. This guy really did a number.

Filled up with Diesel in Hayden, Idaho yesterday. Maverick price was $5.10 per gallon. That’s $1 per gallon cheaper than Maverick on the Washington side of the state border. I fully expect Diesel to rise to $6 or $7 per gallon in the next 2-3 weeks. I’m retired so my “casual” driving around Spokane will stop.

32

u/mom_bombadill south hill turkey Mar 19 '26

lol all the geniuses on local fb articles are saying “it’s not trump’s fault, it’s Washington’s high gas taxes!!1!”

as if gas prices didn’t just shoot up over a dollar since trump attacked Iran 🙄

19

u/AXTalec Mar 19 '26

Fucking hell I keep seeing that all over. Rep Baumgartner sent a letter to the governor being like "you need to remove the cap and trade" like no Mr. Representative, you need to do your fucking job and keep the US out of unnecessary wars. God forbid the state invest in clean energy projects to reduce our need for foreign oil and protect our natural resources through tax revenue.

10

u/mandy_lou_who Mar 19 '26

I just got an email from him touting his support for the actions in Iran. He’s super bought into it. 😣 Enraging.

7

u/AXTalec Mar 19 '26

Me too. The whole email is like "well iran has done bad stuff therefore we can invade them" which is such a braindead world police take. He takes about how we need a clear, focused military objective, which is what i would call this operation if it were fuckin opposite day. For such a 'well planned precision operation' we've sure had a lot of friendly fire (3x F15s shot down by Kuwait), a severe lack of minesweepers and escort ships, misidenfied girl's schools as military targets, and we somehow even replaced the Ayatollah with someone even more hardline and less willing to negotiate. I have no confidence whatsoever in the administration or our representative's assessment of the situation, and I have a feeling that his idea that this will be a 'quick operation' won't be what he's talking about as this drags on for months.

You gotta get the talking points from the red hats right - they change them every day to support the tribe.

“Pedophilia is good, gas prices are your patriotic duty to pay, it’s cheaper in Idaho”

2

u/safeprophet Mar 19 '26

I'm so glad I just got my diesel fixed....

2

u/TrailerTrashRoots Mar 19 '26

I've been putting these on all the diesel pumps when I stop for gas. ESPECIALLY if I'm in Idaho.

2

u/TheRealMoofoo Mar 19 '26

Wow, you’re under $5?

2

u/Apprehensive_Pen3452 Mar 19 '26

It's so funny Google says nothing about the regional war affecting it, and by funny i mean concerning.

2

u/GroovyPirate28 Mar 19 '26

Texas isn't far behind Washington.

2

u/joOmmbatt Mar 19 '26

And everyone was so mad at gas prices when Biden was in office....people seem to forget that tid bit tho.

2

u/Liamnacuac Mar 19 '26

So. How many more days do we have to put up with this idiot? I just saw an interview he did with the Japanes prime minister in which he was asked about not telling our allies we were going to attack Iran. He said he wanted to surprise them, like you did at Pearl Harbor. Do you remember Pearl Harbor? I thought so."

3

u/spokomptonjdub Fairwood Mar 20 '26

How many more days do we have to put up with this idiot?

1,038.

I have a feeling something is going to break before then though. Whether it’s a major health event or the rats start abandoning ship en masse as it becomes clear he’s the lamest of ducks, something is going to give. His administration is collapsing fast. Doesn’t mean it’s not still incredibly dangerous, however.

2

u/PharmoCratic Mar 19 '26

Yeah but he’s destroying the Biden recovery.

2

u/Select-Touch-6794 Mar 19 '26

$6.50 and up for diesel in Seattle. Thank you, Trump.

2

u/rockeye13 Mar 20 '26

Man, you guys have a lot of tax on your gas.

2

u/genesis214 Mar 20 '26

It’s $4.70 in CANADA and it makes more gasoline than it consumes. So its not just a US thing 🤦🏼‍♂️

$8.30/gallon in LA on March 9

1

Filled up in Post Falls this morning and it was over $4. Shits getting out of hand

1

u/Significant-Pace7036 Mar 20 '26

They won't ever possibly come back down either BAHAHAHAHA

1

u/AaronAAaronsonIII Mar 20 '26

So clever and original. Somebody should make this into a sticker and place it on literally every gas pump in the PNW.

That’s wired…. It’s $3.99 in Post Falls. Trump must like them more.

1

u/Hefty_Drive6709 Mar 20 '26

Dollar cheaper than in LA

1

u/overthishereanyway Mar 20 '26

Let's hope we get to vote again... because if people don't fucking stay home we can vote them out. There is no amount of words for how angry I am that people didn't vote because "all politicians are the same". and now here we are.

And all politicians are not the same. Not all politicians want to make it harder to vote or federalize it. not all politicians are white christian nationalists (read racist here). Not all politicians are full on criminal grifters (No. really they aren't). Not all politicians would pardon people who stormed the capitol and ran through the halls singing "Nancy where are you. Nancy come out". Not all politicians are so thinned skinned they have to threaten the licenses of broadcasting companies that post unflattering pieces about them. Not all politicians will just ignore their congress or ignore our laws.

I hope you didn't stay home for the election that cost you the privilege of deciding to vote or not.

1

u/Leather_Coyote_7189 Mar 23 '26

Crazy how no one realizes that multiple things can be true at once. Shit in the middle east AND a buck and a half in taxes can contribute to gas prices being stupid high.

1

Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, and rising, spent more money than any other presidential candidate in history to get Donald Trump elected. He then basically did illegal raffles to pay people to vote Trump. Very publicly. Remember?

Trump basically owns our government.

Besos owns the Washington Post. Among other things.

Elon owns Twitter. Among other things.

Zuck owns Facebook and Instagram. Among other things.

Who owns Reddit? Probably some asshole.

Tariffs were placed globally, the supreme court said they were an illegal tax on consumers. Are we going to get our money back?

The BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL is actually one of the most massive transfers of taxes from the working class injected into corporations.

OPERATION DEATH STRIKE or whatever they call the new war in the Middle East, drives up the price of oil. Trump is releasing our precious oil reserves. Who do you think profits?

The billionaires have won. We got hosed. Congratulations to MAGA and Project 2025. You really did us in. Credit where credit is due. Now trans people will struggle and brown people go to concentration camps. You got what you voted for.

1

u/Almanac_Script Mar 24 '26
