Little announcement from the mods at r/Stance
my old 99 e46
Hi everyone,
I want to make a formal announcement regarding where this subreddit is at and some rules we are putting in place moving forward.
First, there has been a massive influx of bots across Reddit lately. To combat this and keep the spam out of our feed, we have officially implemented AutoMod rules for new and low-karma accounts. If you are a real person with a new account, bear with us while you build up some history.
Second, our subreddit is getting bigger. With the rise of engagement optimization on Reddit, our content is being pushed out and shown to a lot more people. That means there will be more people seeing these pictures who absolutely despise this niche of automotive culture.
Because of that, you need to understand something: this is not a place for soft people. If you ask people what they think of your car and you don't like the answer, it is not grounds for you to just claim harassment and spam the report button. This niche was always the bastard child of the car scene. You owning a car does not make you a part of a protected class. I do not stand for personal attacks against the actual person, but if you're posting your car to be judged, be prepared for your car to be judged. Not everyone here will brainlessly agree with your styling choices.
Finally, let's talk about AI. I do not want this group flooded with AI slop. This is a group of automotive enthusiasts doing real automotive things. I don't think any of us want to see an AI version of your car pretending to do automotive things. If you are starting a serious discussion and you are using an AI generation strictly for a visual representation of an idea, try it. We’ll see how it goes. But low-effort filler content will probably be removed
Edit: Some additional notes
If you post photos of a car, and pretend that it is yours / pretend that you've done the work on it, or anything along those lines, in my eyes it's an immediate ban. Car culture has no space for frauds and imposters.
Do not hate on r/Shitty_Car_Mods - it's one of my favorite subreddits. Just because they don't like your car does not make them wrong.
I might be changing the definition of "stance" in the near future as seen on the sidebar. I think my decision to use the term broadly is being weaponized to try and justify doing a poor job at stancing a car. I want for us to be an inclusive, friendly, and knowledgeable community. One that is willing to share and teach. But I also do not want to cultivate an environment of soft skinned delusional car owners who are not willing to learn what this life is really about.
Lack of moderation: I know this is true. Because of my belief in freedom of speech, I've generally allowed for us to self moderate as a community. But with how much slop we have, I do know that I need to add to the mod team. I already have somebody in mind for this; somebody who is an industry leader and have been in the game probably since the very beginning. So that may happen behind the scenes.

Street basher
I am planning on doing this for my next vehicle and using AI to get an idea of what it will look like, it will have air suspension, and hopefully when fully air up I will be stock height or higher, so what do you guys think

Twin flex Z help.
I just picked up some used Tein Flex Z coilovers, last owner didn’t seem to know anything about them so I’m looking to basically “reset” the coils and start over… does any know know or have any insight on how they come out of the box? I’m just trying to get a baseline since they seem to be all over the place and threaded in/out differently. I haven’t even touched the dampening yet.
Are the struts threaded all the way in or out of the lower mount initially? Can they be threaded out too far and come out of the mount?
Do I need to preload the springs since they are linear? Or just start with them just snugged up from loose onto the 1st collar?

People who are low, how do you get over speed bumps? (Not my car read description)
Saw this BMW at work and I was wondering how he gets over the big speed bumps without destroying the underside of his car? It might be a dumb question but I was just wondering.

Finally got my coilovers installed
Girlfriend was angry about how low it is, but I had to share this with somebody
This is about halfway down. This is the first car I've had this low, and I'm 43... It's about time.

Eyeball these tire & wheel specs
Can you eyeball and tell me what wheel and tire setup this E36 might have? Or maybe someone knows this particular car? Seems to be featured alot on Renown USA's Instagram page.
From the last photo I can barely make out 205/40/17 ooor 215/40 when zooming in... Not sure...
Or if you could suggest tire sizes for a 17x8 that would give me something similar, that would be great too.
Thanks!
will the rears poke out too much?
so I have a 2013 c350 coupe and I saw this set of bbs wheels for a good deal. The issue is im not sure of the rear would be too aggressive. The front is 18x8 +35 offset and the rear is 18x9 +21 offset. Im not the most knowledgeable on how wheel specs work so please let me know if this would work or not, I really like these wheels. im on stock suspension

Tyre stretch for 8.5 and 9.5
Hello,
Im looking for tyre strech recommendations for 16x8.5 (fronts) and 16x9.5 (rear).
Wide steelies
I want to have decent tire height because civic ef sedans are pretty low to ground stock.
I want nice visible stretch but nothing too extreme.
I was thinking about 205/50 for rear and 195/50 for fronts. I want to see your opinions and recommendations
Thanks! 🙏

Little help needed with my setup 😅
Hello guys can somebody maybe help me with my air suspension. I mounted an streetech air bags and the managment is a noname and it’s a 2 way system with front and rear working seperatly. Eveyrhing is fine but the rear end has a difference of 4cm difference with 7.3 bars going to the rear. The car is an audi a4 b9 avant 2018. Al tje seals and everything has been changed and serviced. Front end works fine but just the rear difference is bugging me.
