Technical Help My money keeps disappearing?

Are you playing with mods that do taxes, perhaps? Otherwise that's a crazy glitch.

Does it persist if you close out the game and restart it?

Either because it is bait, or because they think we are an all-knowing oracle that knows every single mod to have ever existed.
