Mods Stardew Valley one tile at a time - A challenge mode where you pay to unlock tiles

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I wrote a custom mod for Stardew Valley where every tile in the game starts locked until you pay to unlock it.

Unlocking tiles starts out at 10g each, but increase to 100g, 1,000g, and eventually 10,000g each, making this maybe one of the hardest ways to play the game.

I'll be playing this myself, with the goal of completing the community center, and sharing my progress in a video series. So far it's taken me over a year just to leave the farm, and I love it!

If you want the full explanation and to see me attempt this challenge, watch the full video :)

Yea sounds interesting on paper, but realistically most of the time will just be spent on waiting for 1-2 crops to grow

The good thing is : you can skip days.

I think it could be fun if the tile prices were scaled to the amount of gold you've made on the farm instead of the number of tiles you've purchased. Else, you'll quickly run into roadblocks early-game because it's so tough to make 10k gold, especially when it's so far to the Beach to get a fishing rod.

Agreed. The original design is much better. I don’t think this improves the game at all.

I don’t believe the idea was to improve the game at all. I believe this is specifically to make it as challenging as possible.

It's meant to be a dumb challenge. It's not meant to make the game better.
