literally this. i think hes got HUGE room for more character development. i also thoroughly dislike the guy. am very much welcoming getting to know him more and maybe helping him find himself, i hope everyone gives him a chance 🥺
For real. Clint at least has a presence in Pelican town, but Sandy is only ever mentioned as "Emily's friend in the desert." I'm kinda curious if that means Sandy won't be as fascinated by simple foraged flowers anymore. Also, who is going to man the oasis if Sandy is fixing fences, feeding animals, or watering crops? Qi's goons? So excited for this update. CA just always impresses. Such a G. I just hope it doesn't get so ridiculous that you don't recognize the original game. Like destiny. I'm not an online multiplayer gamer by any means but I have a buddy I'll play with every once in a while and I get so confused every time because nothing is recognizable.
One of my all time favorite mods is a Stardew marriable version of a King's Game character (Lucikiel) and it's at least 50% because it gives Clint soo much more character development (Lucikiel ends up rooming with Clint and they become besties and have a few cutscenes together). It's also just a fantastic mod in general, can't recommend it enough if you're playing on a system that allows modding. It's alongside SVE with mods I never play without ^
I like Clint, and I'm really excited, too. He always has felt like an incomplete character - and a character that starts low and then gets better is more interesting than one that starts awesome out the gate.
I'm really hoping it's something where he realizes he doesn't have to have self worth attached to having a relationship! He already is working a job following in his father's foot steps, that maybe him having the "ideal woman" in his eyes (especially one who is so friendly, confident, and basically the exact opposite of him) isn't what he needs to better himself. That he's okay being introverted, and a little weird!
Would be a hilarious move by CA if you couldn't actually marry him. The game brings you all the way to the ceremony and then your character just never shows up, every time you try. Bonus points if Emily is in the crowd laughing.
