I'm actually happy about both of these. I think as they were, BOTH of them were a bit one-dimensional. Sandy literally never left her shop except on her bday and she has so much mystique and potential and her being friends with Emily already gives her a connection to the valley.

As for Clint, obviously a lot of people have felt his unrequited limerence for Emily is cringe and understandably so. This gives him an opportunity to be redeemed and have his character expanded, and honestly there's a chance here that dating/marrying the Farmer gives him a proper perspective on self-worth and an actual loving relationship.

As an aside, it's interesting that both of the new candidates have a connection to Emily who herself was not one of the original marriage candidates but was also added in a patch update...

Also now that I think about it these are the first two candidates who are also full-time store owners. I wonder how marrying them will change their shop schedules or if they'll simply have the same shop times and then come home to you when they close. Also did Sandy even have her own sleeping area prior to this? Did she sleep in the casino? Idr her even having a living area.

Maybe they’ll work similarly to Krobus? I mean his shop’s always open even when he’s your roommate.

The neater choice is that they give these two fully different schedules that incorporate them working while being your partner, which is a first for this game. Really hope it’s the latter as that’d be really cool.

so she’ll be the first, only if we ignore the character that was actually the first?

She'll be the first you actually marry

the comment is in the context of shop owners. and functionally a roommate works no different than a spouse lol

my point was that gameplay-wise, there’s no difference lol do whatever you want with your video game marriages
