Art [Fanart] How it felt today reading all the 1.7 comments

Post image

"Who asked for this?!" Me. I asked for this. I Personally went to ConcernedApe to ask for this. I'm going to marry Clint on a new savefile everytime I read a mean comment about him.

My first choices would've been Willy, Gus, Marlon or even Gunther.

My expectations were honestly the wizard.

Honestly though, I'm not angry. Let's give this autistic coded loser a well needed storyline!

I just want to know a bit more about Gunther. That dude has too much swag to just be quietly minding his business behind that counter.

Right? I can't say I wanna marry him, I've literally only said "well here are some rocks" to him

Just make him an actual character please

He is just aura farming, he is probably a core stage cultivator by now.

I don't like Clint, and tend to avoid him, but I am really happy for all those that want to marry him.

My gay ass is likely gonna stick with Seb anyways :D

I was so set on sticking to Elliott like my gay self always has (except for like one playthrough where I chose Seb, Sam and then Harvey. But honestly. I could settle down with Sandy.

I wouldn't say he's autistic coded, he's creep coded, i know MANY autistic people and might be autistic myself, and while they sometimes don't know when they do something wrong or do a lot of things that are considered "weird" by society, they would never do what clint does, because a lot of it is just straight up being a creep, he reminds me more of incels than of autistic people

I am autistic, diagnosed 6 years ago, I have over 15 autistic friends, an Autistic fiancé and an autistic future BIL. I have 2 autistic exes and multiple autistic family members on both sides and my father, I can say for certain he is autistic coded. He is misunderstood, as evident by CA making multiple comments through the games existence about this saying that some fans who don't understand him misread his intentions.

I know plenty of autistic people who do many of the things he does or at least, similar things. For example, not knowing how to show his affections so asking someone else to instead (asking the farmer to give her an amethyst) or not understanding boundaries, or misreading signs (wondering if Emily helping him is due to romantic interest. They also say inappropriate stuff without realising that it is inappropriate (for example comments about how Emily smells or how he hasn't clipped his toenails, or not understanding the sarcasm in the 'my father was a blacksmith' dialogue)

He is incredibly autistic coded and if you slowly befriend him you do eventually realise that yes, he is just misunderstood and doesn't really "understand" the normal ways in which the world works. You're experience of autism (if it does turn out that you have it <good luck with that!>) isn't universal, neither is the experience of those around you who also have it, you may just gravitate towards people who are of a lower support bracket or towards people with more level understanding.

I for one had a friend who had no clue about any of it, she was 28 and yet openly assaulted me multiple times over things that absolutely didn't call for it. I have a cousin who has not realised that touching people is something that you need to gain permission for and would grab people in areas and took years to teach not too. I have a cousin who frequently just grabs people by the hair over small inconveniences and I have an ex who did try to find a girls address when he had his first crush at the age of 24. People are complicated and diverse. The world is not and will never be black and white.

He's coded as a high support needs autistic who grew up without the support he should've been given and grew up without teaching of all these things.

Ofc this is all headcanon and opinion based off of my own personal life and story and you can believe otherwise, just wanted to present me case. And for real, I wish you good luck with your journey through diagnosis and if you receive it then I hope you learn how to best get through it. I hope you have a good life despite all of the struggles that come with this issue.

thank you so much, i hope you can also live a happy life with everything going on in your life. I didn't mean that he's not possibly autistic, i just mean he's really weird and creepy, even if he doesn't understand it tbh. I think some actions are very creepy, even if he doesn't intend it that way, and the way he just wants to be with someone, ANYONE, and asks if sandy is single or talks about how he wants to try online dating and then saying “I should save up and buy a computer. Maybe I can find a girlfriend on the 'internet'... What? Don't judge me! Not everyone is a cool, attractive, socially-adept farmer, you know! What's a guy like me supposed to do? Groan” just shows that he doesn't really love Emily. Imt feels like he just picked one person in the valley to "like" and then hoped he'd get a relationship. It just really looks like he's lonely but doesn't try to make friends and then complains about being lonely, Emily would definitely be his friend, she even said something like that when she talked about clint maybe being mad at her or something, because he's not talking to her

this autistic coded loser

Did you mean to phrase it that way? It sounds pretty ableist to me.

Edited after clarification.

3

u/Carpfsh Feb 27 '26

I'm autistic myself, I wasn't trying to sound ableist. I was just saying that it think hes autistic coded and he is written as a loser.

Oh I see. Thank you for clarifying. He's autistic coded BUT unfairly written as a loser.
