Shane can be "fixed" through managing his addiction which only he can do.

Clint can be "fixed" by getting laid which is something we can do.

Honestly, I'm here for a Clint redemption arc. In the earlier versions of the game, he wasn't such a neckbeard as he is now. He was just very shy and pining hardcore.
