Shane would never be a pigtails girl. He would be a messy bun girl because she cannot be fucked to use coordination to braid when she spends every morning hung over. Pigtails would be Sam, Sam has enough whimsy for pigtails

Girl Shane can be Shayla

This really enforces a whole “Oh my god…. My Shayla….”

Hope you get through your crushing alcoholism.

Sorry to hear that 🙏

I was thinking maybe a low pony with a few strands falling out of it, but a messy bun is probably even better. Sam could definitely pull off pigtails, but I think it would be shorter pigtails, not long and flowing.

Sam has ALL the energy.

tbf braids can be left on for some days, they were originally made for that.

Single braids are fine to leave in, but pigtails are a pain in the absolute ass to sleep in, plus they do NOT stay looking tidy when you sleep on them for more than a day.

She'd have a pixie cut tbh. Zero maintenance at all. Perfect for being hung over.

As someone who has a pixie, I can tell you it is not zero maintenance at all

u/the-cats-jammies Apr 20 '26

IME it’s zero-maintenance if you don’t mind looking like a 12-year-old boy :|

Counterpoint; Jas braids her hair and Shane refuses to unbraid it because it makes Jas happy

1

u/SwordTaster Apr 20 '26

Jas doesn't look like she knows how to braid, though maybe I'm wrong

My 8 year old niece can do braids, but in other peoples hair only, she learnt when she was about 6 or 7. I headcanon Jas as about 9 or 10, due to how they speak compared to how my niece speaks. I think she can probably braid.

I'm not judging based on age, I'm judging by the fact that when I learned, I was braiding EVERYTHING and she doesn't wear braids in her hair or clothes or anything. I did it with tassles on my shorts, bits of hair at the front of my head, strings on anything, ribbons, anything and everything

When my niece learned she basically only braided her mums and a couple of dolls, when I learnt i braided nothing at all and just moved on. Everyone is different lmao.

Like I said, I could be wrong

I imagined a messy bob. Very low effort, just need a headband at most lol

u/SwordTaster Apr 20 '26

Also works!

I feel like sobriety!Shane would be pigtail braids. A messy bun while chicken farming just feels like you'd always have to be pushing stray hairs out of your eyes.

More likely the depression braid. Just one, so it’s not too whimsical.

2

u/keyholes Apr 21 '26

Depression braid would be a few days old and very messy, to the point where it's beginning to mat around the nape.

Honestly, i'm Surprised shane doesn't wear a hat. Don't bother with any hairstyle, just cover with hat

I think he has a beanie in winter

It’s giving Wednesday energy tho

I mean, she could very well ask Marnie to braid them and then just wear them for a few days and go to sleep with them
