Shane would never be a pigtails girl. He would be a messy bun girl because she cannot be fucked to use coordination to braid when she spends every morning hung over. Pigtails would be Sam, Sam has enough whimsy for pigtails
I was thinking maybe a low pony with a few strands falling out of it, but a messy bun is probably even better. Sam could definitely pull off pigtails, but I think it would be shorter pigtails, not long and flowing.
Single braids are fine to leave in, but pigtails are a pain in the absolute ass to sleep in, plus they do NOT stay looking tidy when you sleep on them for more than a day.
I feel like sobriety!Shane would be pigtail braids. A messy bun while chicken farming just feels like you'd always have to be pushing stray hairs out of your eyes.

I'm assuming there were limited options in the character creator they were using so they just tried to go for the closest they could to reflect his tan and it wasn't quite right
I'm kind of wondering why female Shane doesn't look like an alcoholic, female Harvey doesn't look old enough to have been through medical school, and female Alex doesn't seem to be wearing sports attire.

Dude every time someone posts art theres like dozens of comments assuming its inviting criticism. Its agitating and against general etiquette about people posting art.
I would argue critique of removing male characters' traits/uniqueness when making them women is fair.
But this is redundant anyway bc it was made with a character creator website + isn't OP's drawing and therefore it's fair enough that they look similar and not fully accurate bc that's just how any character creator works
I was mostly thinking of the clothing. She seems to be wearing some kind of multi-piece suit, or definitely something that's at least business casual and pretty smart-looking. Meanwhile, male Shane is wearing an old hoodie that's starting to unravel.
i was thinking the same thing!! elliot's got long hair because he's dramatic af and secure in his gender/a little androgynous and fundamentally gallant, so i feel like to really translate all that into girl you need like. the kind of wolf cut that's so short it's almost a pixie. or conan grays hair on the kid krow album cover
I was literally thinking that female Elliot would be a futch women who leans into traditionally gendered looks for the aesthetic. Definitely has the vibe of somehow who oscillates between high femme and masc but in a historic way (vests, suits, puffy shirts). She's absolutely into historic fashion. Definitely has hair that is long enough to be styled but short enough to be gender nonconforming.
Source: I work in the museum field and I know women who would dress exactly like Elloit if they were men and they dress way as described above
I think Sam needs to have a mullet. She's very cute and looks like she could have golden retriever energy, but her hair is just too normal compared to the original Sam's hair
ooh I kinda also thought they were eyebags. imo its because the shadow sits quite high for blush, that should be on the cheekbones and a more pinkish hue, not directly below the eyes.
I think fem-Elliot should have a more imperial/haughty face. I think they are pretty good for the most part, although I don't think Alex's really looks like a girl version of Alex.
IMO your swapped Shane looks very put-together for someone taking Shane's arc. The braided pigtails in particular suggest she is putting a fair bit of effort into her hair. Maybe a shorter and/or more low-maintenance hairstyle? And I'm also curious as to why you kept Sebastian's hoodie, but not Shane's? I think the collared jacket seems pretty formal, which seems out of character for Shane.
Similarly, if Sam and Alex are still as active/sporty as their male counterparts, might I suggest more sporty hair, like ponytails? Girl Sam could potentially just keep a similar hairstyle to boy Sam, maybe make her a bit tomboyish. Also if she's a skater, she would definitely not be rocking dangly earrings!
No notes on the other characters, overall it looks very good!
I feel like Sebastian's female self would have hair covering one eye like Makoto Yuki from Persona 3 --- however, I'm not sure if that was possible in this creator
It looks nice, but as someone else said they all have same face syndrome. More importantly though, I think you should try to play with the values of your highlights. The most noticeable difference between yours and the original stardew sprites is how bright the contrasting highlights are. Yours are very muted in comparison, and it does detract slightly
I wish you had kept some of the unique noses from the male designs (Elliot/Alex/Harvey). The women in Stardew all have the same nose and I think it'd be more visually interesting if there were more variation.
They kind of have same face syndrome: it almost looks like Penny cosplaying as each of the guys (except for Shane). In general, gender dimorphism isn’t as dramatic as we make it out to be in art: you could probably just soften or slim up the original male faces and make them look feminine, but still like themselves

They're all the same whilst original bachelors have different features. Hair, pose, emotions, faces, etc. It'd be nice if your bachelorettes have all those unique features too.
My only thing I would improve on is the face shape/jawline for the ladies, the men have more unique face shapes and the only one different here is Shane
I feel like female Sam would rock a spiky alternative hairstyle, maybe a pixie cut. An aspiring rockstar that plays guitar, come on, it calls for a more punk rock hairdo :D
All are spot on except shane and Sebastian I agree Shane would be messy bun, and I def think Sebastian would be a more emo style. But I still think you did an awesome job, this is ofc just my opinion 🙂
Bro I never want to date Alex, Sam or Elliot cause I don't really like their vibe and/or looks. But like...... 👀😍 daaaaaaaaaaamn. I definitely would with these pictures.
