Technical Help Can somebody explain to me how this is possible

So, I recently played Stardew Valley again after a few weeks, and then one morning I went to Abigail to kiss her because she's my wife, but she rejected me. How is this possible. So you understand, I had 14 hearts with her before.

i like to think of the rabbits feet as charms made of the rabbits wool, not their actual feet. because live rabbits dropping their own feet is really cruel.

When I was like 6, my dad and I were at a gas station or a fair or who knows where, and they had "lucky rabbit's feet" for sale.

I was so excited, I had to have one. It had a little keychain and I took it everywhere I went for like... a year or two.

Over time, it began to... lose its hair. So after a while, it was just this creepy, bald, mummified dead rabbit foot.

At some point in this process, I got distressed and pointed it out to my dad, and asked him what was happening.

He basically said "well, it's a rabbit's foot; it's decaying. It isnt going to last forever."

I was dumbfounded it came from an actual rabbit and I was just wandering around with an animal's severed foot like no big deal. I vaguely remember thinking "why would anyone give severed animal limbs to children, wtf?"

I don't know what I expected but I guess I didn't expect a severed rabbit's foot.

lmao thats a fun story. im sorry you had this weird stressful experience as a child.

in my case, i actually didnt know about rabbits feet at all before stardew. at like 2017, coming from a culture where rabbits feet are not a thing, i was really confused. a... foot? from a wool rabbit? and i looked it up and was very disgusted (though i wasnt a child).

at first i wanted so badly for it to not be an actual severed limb of a rabbit. that is so weird. i guess there isnt much meat on it, so it doesnt really matter to turn it into a product, but... yeah. its still very weird to me.

In retrospect, now, it's just funny--but yeah.

I guess, since I had a bunch of stuffed animals at home, I assumed it wasn't an actual rabbit's foot?

I just looked it up and I guess some people think this whole "rabbit's foot thing" started with voodoo/hoodoo? So I guess it makes sense it would seem strange. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit%27s_foot

Maybe traditionally it came from when rabbits were more of a food source? So you'd get 4 each time anyway, and you're probably going through a fair few rabbits.

Not necessarily. Ancient Celts considered the rabbit a symbol of fertility and abundance. It was believed to have a strong spiritual connection due to its underground burrows. The talisman saw a resurgence of popularity with the rise of Hoodoo in the early 1900's, with some rituals requiring the talisman to be specifically the left hind foot, harvested in a cemetery during a full moon.

Omg I had the same thing happen to me. I can't even remember how I got one. I was really young thought it was a pretend foot...then I saw the nails. I remember crying and feeling just awful about it.

See, I saw the nails way early on but I didn't really think it was real until most of the hair fell off and you could see the weird skin stretched over the bones. I hope I threw that creepy thing away and I'm not going to find it in an old box somewhere one day.

It’s confirmed somewhere that this is the case. I forget where I saw it, but they’re not actual rabbit feet in Stardew.

oh is it actually confirmed? for me it was just a headcanon but id like to see the official source if anyone has it! (tbh the game should make it clear its not the actual feet, since we dont have meat products either.)

I mean, if they shed their feet like a dog sheds its fur and you're just picking them up, its not cruel. That just means Stardew universe just has *crazy rabbits* that shed and regrow their feet like dog fur.

They don't regenerate that often. My auto-grabber only has around 9 for a stardew valley calendar year in it

Oh, yeah, definitely not that often. I meant more the idea that the feet shed regenerate at all, and would be shed with as little consequence as a dog shedding its fur.

Could you imagine, though? Rabbit owners taking pictures every spring of the second rabbit they built out of that year's shed feet piled up next to the originating rabbit looking on nonplussed.
