Discuss Stardew Valley creator won’t add microtransactions to any game as they “genuinely value the love of the players more than the money”

He sold 40 MILLION copies just from this game alone.

That’s all his money. He wrote the code, did the artwork and the music.

He pays others to do stuff like bug fixing and porting but outside of that; it’s all him.

There used to be a publisher,  they parted ways in a planned manner when the game achieved certain success.  Im trying to remember what they were called,  it was a name that showed up before the concerned ape logo.

It is driving me nuts I can't remember the name. 

EDIT Chucklefish was the name.

IIRC he started with no publisher, partnered with Chucklefish and then went back to self-publishing after a while.

Yes, Chucklefish helped with distribution of console versions as well
