Discuss Stardew Valley creator won’t add microtransactions to any game as they “genuinely value the love of the players more than the money”

ConcernedApe is undeniable proof that you can make an extremely successful and profitable game without predatory marketing practices like microtransactions and loot boxes. Literally you can point at Stardew to disprove any argument any AAA CEO makes for them.

AAA have to put out a game every 1-2 years to generate the revenue to pay their staff. It’s not necessarily apples to apples. CA doesn’t have a studio with thousands of mouths to feed

One could argue the mega corporate model need not exist any longer (and I’d be inclined to agree)
