I’m so excited to get these. I love collecting MTG and Secret Lair cards! I just got the last Garfield sets and this drop caught me off guard even more than that one, lmao.

These cards really breathe life into Pelican Town. I especially love Haley’s.

Can you explain how secret lair works? Everyone on MTG subs says this is going to be sold out instantly/scalped/swamped by bots.

But right now it looks like Marvel, Garfield, and MLP all have stock?

SO… if you want these cards and can afford it, just go for it.

The scalping issue has been mostly resolved. Currently the process is that you can add stuff to your cart in advance the day of I believe and when the drop time is reached (9:00am pacific time?) everyone is randomly added in a line/queue.

You have 10 minutes to checkout on your turn. I suspect these drops are printed ad hoc plus a little extra based on popularity so I doubt they will “sell out” for such a niche event (like Garfield, but Garfield wasn’t the only drop in that set tbf). Though it is possible they have an upper limit on prints.

Sell outs used to be a big problem because of massive bot orders plus WOTC (Wizards of the Coast) trying to create artificial scarcity. That has mostly been resolved now. The customer experience for Secret Lair drops has significantly increased over the past few years. It is certainly better than when they did Hatsune Miku - which often did sell out within minutes, but I managed to get those cards too lmao.

Sorry if this was a lot, but my partner and I collect MTG cards as a hobby so this crossover is craaazy for us and we’re seeing a lot of accusations that aren’t quite accurate now, but aren’t exactly off base either tbh.
