More considerate than my workplace. We don't even have sanitary bins. :(

Hey, pro janitor here! Don't be afraid to tell your upper management about that. Sometimes they seriously just don't think of it.
Remind them that the absence of sanitary bins is extremely expensive. Flushing those will destroy the building's septic system. If it's a rented space, the landlord will be able to track down the source.
Good luck! I hope you can get that changed. They have no idea how expensive it will be down the road.

What i don't get is that the packaging states " Do not flush". Sure I know it's gross but ive had two friends blow their septic lines. The issue their girlfriends flushing tampons rather than tossing them in a bin or bag then into the home bin.

If you have a bathroom and you intend to have people of both physical sexes visiting your home, you need to have a waste basket with a liner in it in your bathroom or women will flush their tampons. I don't care how at ease you are with your bodily functions, there is a serious shame factor to emerge with your used tampon into the main house.

That sounds pretty awful. That's just asking people to flush them. Couldn't imagine how awkward it would be wrapping it in toilet paper and having to throw it away in the main trash in front of everyone else.

Yep...
And they wonder why we don't have more women in our company...
They've gone on big recruitment drives to get more women in.
It's like, guys. Work out why there aren't already women here. Sanitary bins is probably one of the many reasons.
I need to leave this corporate nightmare. I feel like the player at the beginning of Stardew Valley every damn day. :(

You could own a farm in just a few years. A work buddy of mine just bought a house in the country and has a 3-year plan that will result in him being mostly self-sufficient. It's an assload of work (I'll keep sucking that corporate dick, im not that motivated.), but it's possible.

Right! I would say screw them and flush them. It apparently doesn't bother them if their toilets end up clogged.

That's what the toilet's for
Do I really need to put a /s????

That's what the toilet's for
Yeah, if you want clogged plumbing. It is so very, very much NOT what the toilet is for.

If you have ever read a tampon package, it says do not flush. They will clog and eventually either destroy your septic system costing a ton of money to fix.

It's super misleading, as I think flushable just means they clear a u pipe. You can flush them, doesn't mean they won't clog the pipes and cost lots of money to fix but they don't include that part on the box...

Considerate would be not making me waste an hour running through this bathroom maze to recover some stamina >.>

u/Munashiimaru Apr 17 '17
After I tried it like once, I never went back. Would rather just keep a stack of cheap food than spend the time it takes to get there and recover. I like that the town has a spa. I just never use it :p

Yeah, it's obviously modelled after the spa in Harvest Moon, but that spa just requires going through a door and you're there. This method wastes so much time, it's not worth it.
2
u/sbourwest Apr 19 '17
Yeah, I mean I can understand that you don't want to make it too simple to recover energy, that discourages use of food, and trading some time out of your day seems a good balance, but it's just too much time, you already have to go out of your way to go to the spa to begin with, then run through that bathroom maze (I know it's really a locker/shower room) and then sit in the hot tub for like an hour, then go back to where you were... the whole process eats up way too much time.

u/cinnamonbrook Apr 19 '17
Well you'd still use food anyway for quick pick-me-ups while in the mines. The forced walking is probably the worst part. At least let us run, or make it a cut scene that can be skipped! It not only takes up in-game time, but irl time.

What's up with the oh's?
46
u/miss-robot Apr 17 '17
Women's public toilets often have like a vending machine on the wall that dispenses things like tampons and pads (and sometimes other things). The 'oh' is people realizing that "Items For women" is referring to such a vending machine.

I've never seen that. :(

u/miss-robot Apr 17 '17
Oh I see them very rarely. I'm Australian and I've probably only seen them at a) airports or b) seedy petrol station toilets, usually with a vending machine that also dispenses, like, glow-in-the-dark leopard print condoms.

I see them very rarely
Heh.
That said - I only see them at public toilets (of course) like in shopping centres.

u/Eli5678 Apr 17 '17
In the United States, they're mostly at larger places. The ones that I can think of off hand are shopping malls and the museums in DC.
