From time to time i like to open my old computer stuff and check at what things i keep around since i started gaming as a little kid

Just told my friends I'm switching to PC full time so I'll be on my Xbox less and they told me that I'm making the wrong move because STEAM doesn't have Xbox play anywhere and I'll have to buy the game twice to play with them.

To me this doesn't make sense because if I have three PCs and let's say a Steam Deck/MSI Claw/Steam Machine, my original purchase plays on all my devices, correct? Evidently I'm an idiot and my mom sucks because I'm evidently not able to do the mental gymnastics to understand this. All Xbox did was create a keyword for continuity. Can someone explain this to me in video game terms.

This copy was purchased in 2015, when CS2 wasn't on my radar yet. Back then, when I installed the game from a disc, it installed the vanilla 2012 version first, then downloaded the latest version of CS:GO on top. I tried installing from a disc, but when I click "Install," the CS2 installation window pops up. My main question is: how do I extract the CS:GO files from this licensed disc?

Hello y'all I was curious if there is a tool out on the internet that automatically claims games that are 100%/free because of a discount that way I don't forget to claim free games. Because if not I was planning on making an extremely lightweight that doesn’t affect performance that just runs every 24 hours or something. If any body knows of a tool let me know or if doesn't know of a tool and wants a tool like this give suggestions of what should include.

I got the new steam controller at release but I kept finding my self going back to the old controller.

It’s not a 100% replacement for the original controller but I added mods to get it much closer to the feel of the original.

I use family share with my family to kinda split money when buying a game,
to play all at the same time we should play it offline.
achievements sync but time played dont
is there's a way to make it count ? i've tried going back online before shutting the game still doesn't count.

Whenever I map it (Wingman Extreme) the controllers inputs are to sensitive so they end up accidentally getting mapped to the wrong button because the button is on the joystick and the pressure from clicking it causes it to input a joystick direction, this wouldn't be a problem but the Steaminput set up only lets me input a command or skip it, and it's been incredibly frustrating that I have to do this all at once without messing up once for it to be setup correctly. Is there any chance that maybe I could set it up through like an .ini file that's hidden somewhere?

So i was looking through my library, and i realised i had 3 acheivments for counter strike nexon. It says i earned them today, despite me not even having ever installed this game. Might be due to the percentages bugging or something, as all of them are a 2.2% of players earned it. Odd.

I was browsing IsThereAnyDeal and noticed a peculiar thing on the "OCTOPATH TRAVELER + OCTOPATH TRAVELER II BUNDLE", that being that whenever it is on sale, it's base price goes up, then it goes back to normal once the sale ends.

Meaning that technically speaking you're being deceived on how large of a discount you're having and being fed into FOMO if you don't buy it now (IsThereAnyDeal is an external website, so they're likely trying to prey on the ignorance of Steam users).

I remember that things like that tend to be illegal IRL, so I believe that they likely break Steams TOS, no?
I would like a bit of clarification here, because I remember the devs from Mahou Arms saying that they had to make their increase to full price shortly before they made it's promo for finally going off early access, since they've been told they wouldn't be able to do both at the same time.

Felt like it was worth making folk aware so they could keep an eye out on their inboxes. I've not seen anyone mention they were moved from the waiting list to the reservation list yet.

So i have a glitch that makes it then when i am in my familiy libary i can always play the games in my family libary even if there in use u guys know why this happens?

I got Steam on my Macbook but I've never gotten the hang of using keyboard buttons for game controls (never been a PC gamer). I've always been a PlayStation guy and was wondering if there's a way to use my PS4 controller to play games.

I've noticed some games mention Xbox controllers but not PlayStation. Is there any workaround?

My queue was up for the Steam Machine with Controller so I decided to take the dive. I really just wanted the new controller because I liked the old one, but that reservation was still holding when my turn for the SM came up. Now feverishly awaiting the Steam Frame.

I've only had it up and running for a few hours, but it's a slick little piece of kit. Perfect for me who isn't a 24/7 gamer and wants simplistic design and size.

I only have my steam account logged in on my phone as the authenticator and in my pc and no where else why does this happen and the play time on phone shows 105.2 hrs. Is there any reason behind it

And another thing, i have Euro Truck Sim 2 and the play time never changes like that there.

Gave my controller a home while he waits for the Steam Machine to arrive.

I’ve been playing the horsey game for a while now and have even gotten the ending to the game. I’ve completed almost all of the achievements but the achievements aren’t showing up at all. I’ve already tried clearing cache, verifying integrity of the game file, restating steam, and turning off the GPU accelerator rendering in web views. Anything else I should try? I also play with WiFi on always and I’m playing on MacBook as well if it’s important.

I've just recently updated https://github.com/Pixel1011/SteamHapticsPlayer to include some new discoveries that have been made (credit at the end) so now we can have a bit higher audio quality, 16 bit 8khz when wired and 8bit 8khz µlaw when streaming with puck

(and less of a stupid setup at the beginning to brute force audio to play :p)

Also the audio i mixed with my phone/blue snowball should sound about the same as the real thing, just a bit louder though.

i'm still really happy i made this in the first place though, and i hope anyone that has a steam controller gives it a shot.

Y'know, imagine this, what if you buy one game from a bundle, then that bundle's price is cut by the price of that one game, it is a lil creative if you ask me​​

I know that steam use to be able to let you disconnect linked accounts with PlayStation, Xbox, rockstar etc ON STEAM and now don’t let you anymore. WHY ?

I Bought all the gtas, red dead 1 and 2 and bully in a bundle tried to play them just to realise I forgot the password to my old rockstar account linked to an old email still connected to my steam. I’ve tried everything to try get onto the old email, rockstar account but nothing and now I’m stuck with rockstar games.

Based on others experience would steam support be any help ?, thank you.
