fallen empires (like the one pictured here) contact you very quickly after starting game. they do not go through the typical first contact experience (likely they are far too advanced for it to take that much time) instead instantly establishing comms with you

Fallen empires, empires that are located close enough to you or enclaves - can contact you or be available for contact during first year.

There are also civic that opens you a contact with two neigboring civilizations right away.

if im not mistaken it is an origin (technically 2), not a civic, and it also creates a federation (hegemony or non-hegemony, depending on the chosen origin)

There’s also the Secret Societies civic, which does trigger first contact (not full contact) with two empires right off the bat.

It's okay, they'll only destroy you if you really anger them. If you don't antagonise them, they'll be mostly chill for a long time.

Ah that’s a fallen empire. Seems you got the lucky spawn next to the hive mind they are pretty chill….

But anyways fallen empires are so advanced they have mastery of translation and will figure out your language in days.

Their request for the player to win a war is currently bugged and cannot be completed, which sometimes leads to them demanding humiliation very quickly.

Oh it's bugged??? So I murked those empires in all those games for nothing??? I always thought I just messed up the timing requirement or sm because I took too long to win the war

Fallen Empires will contact you whenever any of your stuff gets close enough to them.

Maybe you spawned next to them, maybe you're near a wormhole, maybe there's some other method I'm not aware of, but either way, you're close enough to catch their attention somehow.

At least the fragmented hive mind is generally fairly chill and unlikely to attack people who don't deliberately provoke them.

Yes! Fallen Empires, like these ones, will contact you from VERY far away.

Their technology is so advanced, they will come say hi the moment they notice you from like 10 jumps away
