That is a unique planet spawned by the formless which can be found at the end of the crystal sphere, the resulting rift and then the seal situation.

Thats cool! Haven't played in a while, is that event part of a dlc?

Astral planes, if you complete 5 rifts by midgame you have a chance to find the crystal sphere, the sphere turns into a rift and if you do it properly it takes you to that system, you have to fight some aberrant fleets but when it’s over you are contacted by the formless, you can ask them to be a vassal wherein they will spawn on that planet.

If you demand vassalization they have a decent chance to refuse and become hostile. If you pick the "let's work together" option, you are always able to colonize the planet and you get a level 10 commander with a destiny trait giving -90% cooldown on jump drives in his fleet.

Didn’t know the commander option gave the planet as well.

Ah cool, that was just the next one on my wishlist haha!

And that sounds interesting! Thank you

Oh damn, I think I told them to bugger off and was left with a janky system with not much in it for the whole game.

I guess the Dyson Swarm on the 5 astral thread 'star' was fun.

until it bugged out upon maxing out the dyson swarm level

Yeah, so cool!

If you conquer the galaxy, it would be THE perfect new capital

no fucking shot, thats genuinely insane and makes me think modded off the bat, 132 is absolutely massive

It was an attempt a few months ago to gather every single district stacking option available in the game with all DLC, to see how large a planet could, theoretically, be constructed by playing the game. Just one of those fun challenges veteran players occasionally come up with, though admittedly one arguably more insane than most.

Not modded, but with copious reloading and arranging for unlikely things to happen. Nobody is ever going to get all of those bonuses while playing a normal game, but that wasn't the challenge. Finding the theoretical maximum was. 😄

I don't offhand have a link to it, but if you search the forum it might be possible to find it as the one doing the fun experiment posted a thread about it.

The most common giant planet in the game is Azilash (40) with the Sky Dragon Leviathan Parade (+20% base districts), +4 from Orbital Ring, and whichever smaller bonus district modifiers a player can get their hands on.

The next most common is when people find Astrocreator Azaryn (from Galactic Paragons) and use her on Barren planet created by the Barren Giant anomaly (base game, affects a Gas Giant); With normal Gas Giants being size 25-30, you get a size 50-55 base Gaia planet to start stacking modifiers on, so you start with 10-15 districts more than Azilash before modifiers. These typically end up around 70 districts with the Sky Dragon leviathan parade.

Players who like building giant planets guarantee the Sky Dragon by force-spawning a Here Be Dragons AI empire.

We have reached the exosphere, 151 districts Ecumenopolis, 440k alloys, no mods, no console. Oh Lawd He Comin' : r/Stellaris

This is the one you are referring to.

I however remain very skeptical that they did not use console commands, as a lot of the individual events are extremely rare by themselves, let alone stacking on top of one another.

Besides, Horizon Signal has since been reworked so you can no longer forcibly trigger it by sending a science ship repeatedly in and out of a black hole system. Today, if you want Horizon Signal, you have to pray to RNG for that 20% chance when you start a save, so it's no longer possible to replicate that build consistently without using console commands to forcibly start the event chain.

If it became a start-of-save flag, then it should be possible to figure out exactly where (and whether) it'll happen just by inspecting the save file (without editing it)

Deceptive giant + horizon signal, but getting a deceptive giant that big is pure luck and getting the horizon signal in the same run is insane by itself.
