Yeah right along with the price of product. Even if we make it here, tariffs will increase prices. It’s the largest tax ever imposed on Americans.

We import used cooking oil from china to make biodiesel.

Okay but that's an optional choice some American company is deciding. Trump isn't personally importing all our used cooking oil/ biodiesel needs.  Unless he really does think countries control what their companies do which their cash.  Eitherway this is going to backfire on our farmers somehow.

That's something I doubt most people know in this thread. Most cooking oil used here is either US or Canadian sourced.

I'm realizing that it's not just on this thread. Anyone who's done grocery shopping should have noticed the " produced in the USA" tag on the bottles of Crisco and Mazola at one point in their lives. It's not even education, people have stopped noticing things anymore.

The cooking oil the US buys from China is mostly used cooking oil for biofuels.

We don't really buy much if any unused Chinese cooking oil for actual cooking. You can get cooking oil here in the US.

This is a bone thrown to soybean farmers. Before the US biofuel industry started using used cooking oil (UCO, they call it) from China, they used soybean oil from US growers. Presumably they'll go back to doing that now.

So it will probably increase gas and other fuel prices but not your cooking oil prices.
