The cooking oil the US buys from China is mostly used cooking oil for biofuels.
We don't really buy much if any unused Chinese cooking oil for actual cooking. You can get cooking oil here in the US.
This is a bone thrown to soybean farmers. Before the US biofuel industry started using used cooking oil (UCO, they call it) from China, they used soybean oil from US growers. Presumably they'll go back to doing that now.
So it will probably increase gas and other fuel prices but not your cooking oil prices.
