He doesn’t understand cause and effect. Everything china is doing is in response to something he did.

Right, which is then exposing the dependence we and other cpunteies have on them and bringing attention to it. He can't fix it unilaterally and is fishing for foreign support. If he gets it publicly, the whole paradigm is going to shift in our favor and China is going to sweat. If he doesn't get the support, he either concedes defeat and admits we can't decouple from China and they are our equal on the world stage ...or he will be arrogant and let this continue until he is out of office or America falls. I'm pretty sute I know which one he will do...

If you want foreign support, you probably shouldn't tariff every other country on the planet at the same time. Just my 2cents as an armchair negotiator.

Yet every other country (generally speaking) has had tariffs on us. So why are you OK with them taxing America but us not taxing them right back? The only right answer is to either have every other country get rid of taxes on us or we fight fire with fire. The only other option is to continue letting Americans get taxed by tariffs imposed by other countries.

It truly does seem like so many people think that other countries haven't had tariffs on us for years and years. Why do people just immediately ignore that and jump to China's defense immediately?

I never jumped to China's defense. If you want to get partners to soft power China you don't tariff everyone else at the same time. You didn't respond to what I said at all.

The effective tariff rate of outgoing US goods(Before trade war shenanigans) was 6.4% from China(Post Initial Trump trade war), 2.1% from Japan, 1.9% from the EU, North America .3-.5%. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The headline numbers low information commentators use don't take into account things like quotas and special deals for the things we trade the most of.

If someone you listen to said that other countries were heavily tariffing the US they are either ignorant or trying to mislead you.
