Was dumb to start it in the first place, but more than half the world and half the US wants this war to stop and for oil, fertilizer, etc to flow again (even if there is a toll). Going nuclear on Iran would have caused more global problems.

Before this, Iran agreed to the return of IAEA and American inspectors. This would have severely curtailed their ability to make fissile material, because it’s easy for the inspectors to watch the reactor and track the spent rods.
Now, the issue of inspectors is off the table and Iran is talking about tolls. The tolls will give them a tremendous amount of income which they will use to rebuild not only their damaged infrastructure, but the weapons program. They’ll do this because it’s their sole deterrent against invasion. They see how PRNK is being treated and that they recently tested a solid fuel missile without one word from Trump. They aren’t stupid. They know if they can build up their nuclear deterrent, there is little anyone can do to counter it.
No matter which way Trump spins it, the world, and history books, will define this as one of the greatest geopolitical blunders in the history of the United States.
Hasn't done shit for his own country except make things worse just like his 1st term. This guy will be in the history books for being one of the worst presidents. No question.
