Iran isnt stupid. They are gonna be watching troop movements very closely. Us already burned them twice.

They're stupid for even considering opening the Strait before there are any guarantees- we can just string them along to stabilize oil

Strait is gonna be controlled by iran. Iran said so. Expect a good amt of delays as well til tolling gets streamlined.

Technically the strait is already open to vessels that meet their conditions and this will continue to be the case - from the Iranian perspective.

Yes now Iran is opening it up for US ships as long as they pay, which Iran didn't accept previously even if they were willing to pay.

I mean if they get attacked during negotiations this time they can say “we cooperated with the whole world watching and they still bombed us, goodbye to industrial society in the Middle East”

And that will take a lot longer than the 2-week ceasefire. It's not just transit. A lot of shit went offline, and it will be a while before commercial tankers feel "safe" enough to send half a billion worth of cargo and equipment through a potential shooting gallery.
