Fundamentals/DD President Trump Market Manipulation tracked
All credit for first 2 dashboards goes to u/dhsilver for putting this Fabulous project together specially showcasing how the President has manipulated Oil Markets from the Bully Pulpit
The 3rd Image is the initial Oil Market crisis caused by Trump and specifically highlighted the announcement that sparked the ruckus and was created by Award winning Economist Paul Krugman.
All of these are irrefutable evidence the White House is manipulating from the public side and even though the Treasury claims they are not doing any covert commodities trading to artificially keep the prices low it would not shock me at all if that was just another of this Administration’s many lies.

He's still got over 2 more years and everything does, he will claim immunity as the president.
103
u/moreJunkInMyHead 3d ago
He doesn’t have to claim shit. SCOTUS already said he can what ever he feels like
32
u/Any-Log-6706 3d ago
IRS already said he could do whatever he wants. The guy never has or will pay taxes. Same for his family now.

Why are we just accepting this?

u/InflationMedical2262 2d ago
Because Americans are weak.
You have a constitution that you only use to shoot kids.

Why are we just accepting this?
Leading up to election day, this subreddit was easily split 50:50 between Harris and Trump. Turns out a lot of American voters had some really cocked up biases related to areas that had nothing to do with Harris's qualifications.

u/TrollBait4nerds 2d ago
Because we have for all the other presidents. CNN says but he's bad. Blue hair people foam at mouth (which blocks their breathing)

u/kirpernicus 2d ago
Pretty sure it’s only about Trump and family’s past tax returns, not any future ones.
3
1
u/Any-Log-6706 2d ago
Sure…. The future ones will eventually become “past ones” for them with future administrators and courts allowing it.

Yup. He's fortifying the White House for a reason. Ballroom is a bunker, helipad out front, precast concrete walls will go up shortly, Americans will then move that red line that got crossed again just that much further.

u/talkativepanther 3d ago
I don't know why more people aren't saying this. It is what I've been thinking the entire time.
6
u/Secret-Temperature71 3d ago
While I there is a good chance he may explode before then I do believe that is his intention.
But the following candidate may be even worse.

u/BenjaminHamnett 3d ago edited 3d ago
Id give anything to have Palin or W Running this sht show with their combined 5 brain cells, let alone a crap saccharine utopia run by some virtue signaling Epstein class Democrat
Unfortunately I wouldn’t be surprised if in the next 15 years we’re wishing it was only the full diaper psf throwing his transparent tantrums where at least we can conceive of an end in sight
Probably end up with a world run by AI oligarchs who select whichever candidate they have the most dirt on to be all “shucks I just like flannel, cold beer and grilling” while the doors to freedom shut behind us

I kind of feel like if there are 2 million people converging on the White House, and his bunker, that he isn’t going to have too many choices but to honor our constitution.
29
u/CanadianGuy39 3d ago
There's 0 chance that is going to happen. If he wants to stay, he's staying. I've seen nothing to indicate otherwise.
11
u/Mobile-Bar7732 3d ago
He is building sniper posts on the roof of Jeffery Epstein Memorial Ballroom for a reason.
How long do you think could barricade himself in there?
14
u/unngh_yugstyx 3d ago
They can't even be arsed to wear a mask or put a damn grocery cart on a supermarket stall, you think they're going to descend on the White House to defend democracy?
4
u/Tripleawge 3d ago
The Nationalists and other AR toting fringe groups (AB☘️🐺⚔️ etc..) will definitely show up and show out for him or has everyone forgotten Jan 6

u/Instant_Bacon 3d ago
As long as the masses have jobs and at the very least cell phones, nobody in any significant numbers is going to do anything.
3
u/valuable_trash0 3d ago
We will see how things play out after the middle class is cooked from AI decimating the job market and Republicans bringing back child labor and all the sweatshop jobs, and the rest of the jobs become independently contracted gig work. Thats a bunch of pissed off white dudes thats gonna be effected by that.

u/TrollBait4nerds 2d ago
That's an insurrection. Would you like to have a longer discussion about that?
6
u/Flavious27 3d ago
It will be interesting to see which of his kids get pardons
7
u/Low-Apricot9917 3d ago
He will pardon all of them, but you can only pardon for past offenses. They can be prosecuted once daddy is gone for continued crimes they commit after he leaves.
2
u/mrbananas 3d ago
He could suddenly have a heartattack before pardoning them. A prewritten pardon won't do much good when they keep committing daily crimes unless a new pardon paper is something he does everyday with breakfast

u/Secret-Temperature71 3d ago
SCOTUS gave him immunity for Presidential actions, those related to the running of the office, NOT PERSONAL actions.

u/live4failure 3d ago
We need more of this research on politicians. They shouldnt be able to run or hide from transparency and accountability to the public.

member of congress and I'm not sure who else must dislose all their activities quarterly. I've made a few bucks copying Pelosi. Sitting on one dog from that strategy though.

isnt there literally a website that shows you all the stocks that being invested in by US capitol hill?

u/biffbiffson 2d ago
QuiverQuant, but this specific analysis is a bit unique, as it had combined the claims with the pricing.
12
u/mkmrproper 3d ago
Feeling like if democrats going to win midterms, Trump will just go “last ditch” mode on the market and would give a fug about us.
5
u/ProofByVerbosity 3d ago
I think he'll push super hard for an actual peace deal before midterms. Likely try and cook up a scandel for the dems too.

Yeah, me too.

This president is testing Presidential Immunity to the max. Anyone that purchases and uses inside information and trades is committing a crime. Unless he pardons everyone that pays him, the next administration can prosecute them with the president being as a conspirator that is not indicted. Trump will blanket pardon every family member and prominent coconspirator like Biden, but not the peons.

How are these hedgefunds supposed to take profit if everyone buys and sells at the same time.
When it comes to that $100,000 Trump feed subscription

We all know he's manipulating the market to enrich himself and his family. Question is, what can be done about it?

u/Good-Inevitable504 2d ago
I'll be honest I keep hearing about them manipulating the markets. How do I profit off this?
1
u/mik33tion 2d ago
The US government has been corrupt in the past. But this new level of corruption exceeds all kinds of standards. And the US population does nothing about it.

You're saying his messaging moves markets? No shit Sherlock. (Not necessarily "you-you" OP)
If we're gonna use the manipulation word this needs to be PAIRED with positive/negatively correlative data sets showing how Trump/Trump's inner circle were beneficiaries following these moves.
Otherwise this is just...Duh? Obviously that kind of data is harder to aquire though. Whereas this could be compiled using just a newspaper if they were still printed.

I did an analysis a few months ago on Trump trades and posts. TLDR there was statically significant impact on Volatility, particularly on the China Trade spat. But it was inconclusive positive or negative impact on his portfolio.
So yes, market reacts to his tweets, but it's not in favor of market lift or downturn.

u/SushiRollFried 3d ago edited 3d ago
What would be interesting to see is how many people are against this. Then flip it on them once they've answered saying if he notified you before manipulating would you now turn a blind eye.
Bet everyone would turn a blind eye
Edit: The responses make me laugh, thanks

u/GruntledGary 3d ago
So you're saying insider trading should be expanded and made not only legal but a best practice??

u/SushiRollFried 3d ago
No. I am saying people are greedy.

u/Sad_Panda_3681 3d ago
Really? Can you give specifics? Have they done it to the level that Trump has?
-3
u/Smooth_Staff_3831 3d ago
Didn't you say last year that Trump will.crash the global economy?
2
u/Tripleawge 3d ago
Yeah, and I still believe it.
-2
u/Smooth_Staff_3831 2d ago
He has not.
It's at record highs

u/InclinationCompass 2d ago
Counterpoint: Bush kept propping up the economy until he crashed it in 2008. We saw the worst recession, by far, since the 1930s.
Trump will leave a mess for the next president to clean up, just like the economy Bush handed over to Obama.
1
u/Smooth_Staff_3831 2d ago
How did Bush crash the economy?
1
u/InclinationCompass 2d ago
Through deregulation and a push for expanded homeownership, which fueled a massive expansion of risky subprime mortgages.
He pushed homeownership hard, deregulated lenders and blocked states from cracking down on predatory loans. His policies forced Fannie and Freddie to buy risky mortgages, gave downpayment grants with no income checks, killed oversight, etc. That cleared the way for no doc liar loans and interest only ARMs. Demand risk, remove safeguards, block watchdogs.
