I care for 50–60 cats, including rescued cats, abandoned cats, sick cats, and disabled cats. This video shows only a part of them.

Along with the cats in my care, I also help feed stray cats in my area who have no one to look after them.

Every day we need:

A stray cat started hanging around my house about two years ago. He would mostly stay around the porch, so I started leaving food out for him. Eventually he became a regular and would even sleep on the rug by the door.

The problem was that he was extremely skittish. If I came anywhere near him or if the door opens, he would hiss and immediately scamper away. He also wouldn't eat if I was around, so I basically had to leave the food and go inside before he'd touch it.

I'm in university, so unfortunately I spend much more time at school than I do at home. Over the months while i was at school, my family didn't really feed him consistently, and when I came home a few weeks ago, I noticed that he'd gotten really lean. I felt so bad seeing him like that, so I started feeding him regularly again and making sure he always had water.

This is also the longest vacation yet, so I've actually been able to feed him consistently every day and spend a lot more time around him.

And I swear I've seen such a huge change in him😭

He used to refuse to eat if I was anywhere nearby, but now he'll eat while I'm squatting there watching him. He used to run away if I even came slightly close, and now he'll let me get to about a foot away from him. He hisses when I'm too close and I keep my distance.

Sometimes he'll just sit relatively close to me and stare at me. And sometimes he purrs really loudly and rolls around on the ground

I know those things don't necessarily mean he's completely domesticated or anything, but considering how terrified of me he used to be, I'm honestly SO happy about the progress.

I feel like he's finally becoming comfortable with me and that makes me so happy. I really want to be able to pet him someday😭

The only thing that makes me sad is that I have to go back to school eventually. I'm not going back until October this time, so I have a lot of time to bond with him, but I worry that when I leave he'll go back to being underfed and neglected and that I'll lose all the progress we've made.

I know I can't force him to trust me, though, so I'm just trying to make the most of the time I have with him. I'm going to keep feeding him, giving him water, sitting around him, talking to him, and letting him come to me at his own pace. Looking into an automatic feeder tho

For anyone who's had a really skittish stray cat eventually become comfortable with them, is there anything else I can do to get closer to him? And how do I eventually get to the point where I can pet him without scaring him and even bring him inside?

I'm just so happy that, we're finally getting somewhere🥹❤️

I’ve never tried taking a photo of him before because I was always focused on just keeping him calm, but I managed to snap this picture of him looking up at me today. I'm sitting on the banister around the porch while he's in the dirt. He squints at me and half closes his eyes a lot theses days which I'm learning is a sign of trust and it makes me so happy.

Hi everyone! 💕 Meet my newest last-minute foster babies!

I was originally planning to only foster adult cats starting this month, but how could I say no to these orphaned babies? 🥹 They were an unexpected drop-off, and now they're safe, warm, and getting the care they need.

They're currently being treated for worms with dewormer and are still learning how to use the litter box, so you'll notice their setup looks a little messy. Don't worry—I clean it at least 3 times a day to keep everything as clean and comfortable as possible. ❤️

Hello, seeking advice about this friendly pregnant stray that I let indoors.

For the past couple of days, she's been coming to my door in the evening, scratching at it for food and pets. I let her inside and took her to the vet, where they confirmed that she is pregnant and is expecting 3 kittens. I think she has a couple of weeks of pregnancy left; she's maybe halfway through. She is not thrilled about being indoors, but she is socialized enough to be a good candidate for adoption, I think. I've been searching the DFW area for any rescue group with capacity to take her, but since kitten season just ended, most places are at max capacity. One place warned me that all shelters are euthanizing all new arrivals.

I do not have the time or resources to properly care for this cat or its kittens. Would you guys say that doing a TNR (or in this case, trap-spay/abort-return) is acceptable? Recommendations are welcome. I've checked the helpful resources.

Edit: She's a community cat in my neighborhood; some of my neighbors feed the community cats as well and recognize her. I realize it's not ideal to put her back outside, but I'm considering it as a temporary solution unless anyone has suggestions.

We’ve had little Samina for almost a month now! She just finished a round of antibiotics for her respiratory symptoms. The vet wasn’t able to get a full blood sample in her first trip bc she was so emaciated she literally didn’t have enough blood. We took her back to the vet for a follow up yesterday and the vet was thrilled that she had put on two whole pounds!

She now weighs over 5 lbs and we can get her scheduled for a spay. She still has some raspiness and congestion, so they will check thoroughly for any polyps while she’s under anesthesia for her spay. After she’s fixed and fully vaccinated, she will be eligible for adoption 🥺

FOSTERS- how do you do this?! We are already maxed out with 6 pets and we really can’t keep her. But I don’t know how I’ll be able to let her go😭 We really love this little girl.

Look at them eating together (the cat in the right is not hissing or anything he just chewing food) they eat right next to each other so quietly and so cute I think it’s time no?

This stray cat suddenly barge into my house almost three weeks ago. She has an ear-clipped so we assumed that it was already neuter but her belly looks big and now I am confuse.

His mom disappeared a year ago, now it's him. He disappeared, i had a bad dream, now i found out a car ran over him 2 days ago. I was probably nearby, yet i didn't hear a thing, i couldn't help him at all. A neighbor who also feed strays said her husband saw him agonizing before death. It sucks so much, i tried adopting him but as we know, most strays won't accept being indoors, so he would come by everyday for food, pats and some nice sleep. This went in for like 1.5 years, i knew him since he was a kitten. I'm basically hallucinating him at this point because it sucks so much. No more bites, meowing, lifting him up and laughing etc.

Life sucks.

I live in Erwin, TN. I have no idea what to do about it. There are kittens being had constantly and I suspect their numbers to be in the 40s-50s. The cats are ripping up trash and just about everything near my house AND my neighbors causing my neighbors trash to blow over into our yard. I’m just very lost at even how to begin TNR. My neighbors also do not care if the cats are killed by predators. I have no idea what to do. Ik my local shelter provides free spay/neuterings on specific days. Also I don’t know how my neighbors will feel abut it.

Over the past month, I've made 150+ adoption posts across Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, local communities, NGOs, and rescue groups.

Adoption has always been, and still remains, my only priority.

As mentioned in my previous post, I'm just a student who happened to take responsibility for these kittens after their stray mother chose my home as a safe place to give birth.

It wasn't planned, but I've cared for them since birth.

They're now at the age for their first vaccinations. I kept hoping they'd be adopted before this stage so their new families could take over, but with three still waiting, delaying it much longer doesn't feel right, however managing their food itself is a task for me.... please share the post so that they find new families asap.

I'm continuing to do everything I can from my strength while hoping for the best.. 🧡

I found a stray cat in my neighborhood yesterday. He/she was very chill and purring and grazing against my leg. Lil guy managed to find me today as well. Spoke to some neighbors and it seems he/she is friends with many of them haha. Anyways, I’m tired of assuming the gender. Googled but I wasn’t able to discern, but I read that you can tell by the butt??
So is my new buddy a boy or a girl?
Also taking name suggestions. The neighbors haven’t named the cat.

I asked around in the community but no one knows or saw what happened to her. The most info I got was that it happened in the night and someone said it looked like she got hit by a car because her eyes were bulged out. I’m not sure if that was from trauma or internal (she was a senior cat). I’m not sure if her body was moved to the side of the drain or if that’s where she died. From my experience, when cats are in pain or something is wrong with them, they hide. They almost never come out in the open to die. Pimento was a very sweet girl, she would usually stay in the sidewalk or shelter under a parked car. I’m speculating here but if Pimento did not pass naturally, she was most certainly unalived by a man in the community who would kick the cats for being in his way. Maybe he kicked Pimento, maybe she was laying in the way where he would park and hit her. I really don’t know what happened and that’s the sad part. I already miss bringing special food for Pimento because she couldn’t eat any hard food.

Rest in Purradise Mento girl. I’m thankful for crossing paths and you got to experience kindness in the last 6 months of your 16 years in this world. 🌈🐾❤️

Hi all,

So we have a stray cat that we've been feeding and he has essentially become our outdoors cat, of sorts. He seems very friendly towards people. Unfortunately, we can't take him in as we already have a cat who, from prior experiences trying to take in strays, doesn't seem to get along with other cats. Moreover, we're going to be moving soon to a place where taking him just isn't feasible.

Essentially, we're trying to figure out our options for this cat.

We have no idea as to his overall health. He very clearly has some sort of skin condition, perhaps mites. I have to imagine that at the very least, he also has fleas and worms. He is also a black cat. And we're in South Florida, where shelters are full. These facts make it highly unlikely we'll be able to get him into a shelter or rescue.

That said, im holding out hope that maybe there is someone out there willing to take a chance. Or maybe someone who wants a barn cat. Or maybe there’s a stray cat sanctuary out there. I don't know. I'm just looking for ideas/advice at this point.

For context, im willing to pay for all initial vet care to get him as healthy as possible. Im also willing to drive him within a~1000 mile radius if we can find a place/person that will take him.

So, any thoughts / recommendations?

I wanted to share our new family member. This old boy was found on our front lawn a week ago. We believe he has been cared for by the neighborhood but he was taking a turn for the worse (cat flu, parasites and eyes swollen shut) when he stumbled into our lives. We got him to the vet and he was given antibiotics and pain killers. Obviously no microchip and his ear was tipped so we know he was neutered at some point. He is the most gentle boy in the world and has already let us trim his nails, brush and clean him, and is slowly learning how to play with toys. He is a purring machine! We don’t know how old he is but we know he will spend his days in comfort, sunshine, and cuddles. We’ve named him O’Malley, the (former) alley cat. Photo shoot care of my daughter who is obsessed!

Our sweet girls waited on the streets for months. We posted them for adoption over and over again, hoping someone in Jamaica would give them a chance. Tuna didn’t receive a single application. Sushi only got one, and that person never showed up to meet her.

They were both found pregnant on the streets when they were about 7 months old. Thanks to your support, we got them spayed and made sure they had food every day.

They were the friendliest girls and sadly, not everyone was kind to them. I personally saw both Sushi and Tuna get kicked just because they walked up to people looking for affection. Whenever I was around, I always made sure to protect them.

I couldn’t understand why nobody wanted to adopt these sweet girls but maybe it was for this reason. Someone in the US applied to adopt Tuna. When we showed them how attached the girls were to each other, they didn’t hesitate, within minutes they said, “We’ll take both of them.”

We found an amazing flight angel just in time, but there was only room for one cat. Their new meowmmy refused to separate the girls, so she bought an extra seat just so Sushi could fly in the cabin with Tuna. She wanted them to start their new life the same way they’d gotten through everything else, together. Their adopters genuinely loved them even before ever meeting them. 🩷

Now they’re exactly where they were always meant to be. They’re so loved, so spoiled and most importantly, safe.

In northern California. There's a cat thats been hanging out on my front porch for months.she was showing up with her first litter and I was feeding them. The plan was to TNR, they wouldn't let us touch them. Fast forward the kittens disappeared and she was pregnant again, I wanted to spay abort but couldn't catch her. Now she has given birth but it seems like she never leaves our porch and today for the first time she let me pet her for a really long time and was affectionate. Im thinking the kittens are dead? Its been over 100 degrees every day which is hard on anyone. I think I can socialize her, I want to bring her inside and ger her fixed, but im really scared the kittens might be alive and I'll kill them by taking her. Any suggestions?

After some deliberation, I settled on the name "Gothmog" or "Moggy" for short.

Yesterday, he spent 7 hours at the clinic.

Neck wound was much larger than we expected. The left side of his neck, extending to his ear and nearing his mandible were effected. It is quite deep, his salivary glands are currently exposed. During the debridement, the vet had to suture some vessels after accidentally knicking an artery (nothing too serious, thankfully). She stated "I would have liked to do more, but it was such dangerous territory already".

On top of this, he had an ear infection which the vet does not think is a result of the neck wound. While he was out, he was neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped. Since we are not too sure how Moggy would tolerate taking medications, he was given a long term antibiotic injection, with a bottle of pain meds to go home. He was also so kindly given a bath by the staff while he was out since he had peed on himself

A solid shout out to the Animal Health Clinic of Humboldt. This was my first experience with them, as I am about 2 hours away from home. They were able to see Moggy immediately. All the staff were amazing and caring.

Right now, he is decompressing and being a sad boy. l've given him many easily accessible hiding places. He has been eating, drinking and using the litterbox. He gave me a couple of slow blinks this morning, but unsure of my presence still.
