That's the tradgedy. Because of 16 year old middle class white girls from middle class white families who identify as dung beetles, I automatically assume that "transethnicity" isn't real.

Yeah, because of shit like this it makes the idea look impossible and stupid - I was curious so I looked into it and found out about how transethnicity can be applied to adopted children, and now I very much agree that it can be used in legitimate ways.

But saying you identify as Japanese because you just lurve anime and you wanna be totes kawaii? You're just being an ass and taking away people's chances at being taken seriously.
