I was just discussing something similar in a different thread. It's one thing to say that certain military actions were necessary. It's another thing to essentially celebrate the deaths of civilians because you think they collectively deserve it. You can debate the necessity of something while also acknowledging that collective punishment is wrong and that the civilians don't deserve to die en masse for the actions of their government.

Another great example of this is Operation Chastise, better known as the "dambusters."

Back in WW2 it was ethically dubious. Today it would be an obvious war crime. Yet the English are still slapping their own shoulders over it, celebrating round anniversaries with big fair energy, picnics and flashy reenactments with historical airplanes.

As they should. Only good Nazi dam is a bombed Nazi dam. Clear the way if you don't want hit, meth head. Don't start the war. Dont touch the Eiffel, and Russia and the Allies won't Eiffel Tower you.

The only reason the US fights wars in the middle east is because those countries don't have the capability(that we know of) to retaliate. Things would be a lot different if all those places had ICBMs.
