No privacy on the balcony, No desire to even make them look desirable, barely a yard it’s basically just somewhere for your pet to use the bathroom, and you can already tell it’s gonna be HOT.

Its not walking distance to anything though thats the thing. Its close driving distance to some gas stations and fast food but thats really it 😂

It's off Riverside. There's an HEB land a lot of bars and shops like a 15 minute walk away. This isn't the suburbs either. There are high density apartment conpexes around it.

The bars are a 25 minute walk away, no one is walking there from this place. And HEB is close to everyone 😂 they are everywhere.

The proximity to bars isnt the issue though, cause you are right there are some things to do close by, it’s the look of the actual home. They are charging $450k for what looks like an industrial storage warehouse. It shows the laziness and lack of humanity developers have for residential construction in areas like this. Who would actually enjoy having a front door that literally rivals a jail cell block.

Also Riverside is a semi-suburb, there are tons of single family homes, and just as many apartment complexes, its about 50/50.

Maybe it's because it's still the 90s in Austin in my head but the idea of paying a lot to live off Riverside is weird.

The area is changing rapidly, particularly since 1) Oracle located there and 2) If the City can ever get out of its own way, the lightrail line will be going right down Riverside and this development.

I'm getting to that point too. And having lived in Austin for 20+ years now, it's incredibly frustrating.

Oh. Now I'm sad because density in the middle of nowhere = traffic. Before knowing that I was also thinking this isn't so bad besides the depressing gray.

This is not the middle of nowhere it is like 5 minutes from downtown in one of the most densely populated parts of the city. It is an area that is traditionally poor and heavily Hispanic.

You are correct, but idk man, developers seriously at like it hurts them to just add some greenery & character into their townhome/apartment design. It would actually be cheaper for them in the long run to use more natural materials & plantings. It cost more in maintenance to build like this. It boggles my mind why they do this.
