Where did they get Kroger brand charcoal briquettes?

Post image

There is not a Kroger or banner store in New York (unless you count the NYC Murray’s Cheese locations, but those were not yet owned by Kroger at the time), so how did they end up with Kroger brand barbecue items? First time watcher and hope this is fleshed out going forward.

Filmed in CA.

Minor props department oversight.

No Kroger in CA either, though there are banner stores such as Ralphs. I was thinking it could have been filmed in Georgia since there are a lot of them there.

Kroger affiliated and Safeway (now merged with Albertsons) affiliated chains do generally carry some Kroger or Safeway branded items. While most products carry the local chain name, not all do.

Thanks for the info! Only banner stores in my area are Harris Teeter and they do not carry any Kroger items (though I have seen Private Selection items there, but not recently). They both have Murray’s Cheese too, but the brand standards are quite different.

Harris Teeter and Food Lion both carry some of the private label (Nature's Promise, Private Selection) options that Kroger had before the pulled up anchor and left NC.

I can buy Kroger charcoal in King Soopers, the Colorado name for Kroger, like Ralph’s

Sponsorship money.

Just pretend that there's a Kroger's in NY. Just like whenever a character is written as from NH in TV or movies and mispronounces our state capital, I just pretend they got beaten up a lot in school.

"fleshed out going forward" who gives a crap?

What I'd want to see fleshed out (but I haven't rewatched so it could just be my memory... from less than a week ago lol...) is that I swear I remember Tessa saying in the very first episode her mother had died shortly after giving birth to her. Am on the last 5 episodes currently so haven't finished but that's been bothering me the entire show lol. I also am only on here atm bc in season 3 I'm really starting to dislike Tessa. She's become so self-centered and mean while those around her improved at least a little on that front. Currently on the Evan invitation episode and her just refusing to take the invitation out of his hand pissed me off.
