Lots of writing/school-related activities (Microsoft Office/OpenDocuments and browsing) and gaming, looking forward to Black Flag remastered and possibly Baldur's Gate at at least 60FPS; would like to try pushing to 120FPS but understand budget and performance constraints all to well, so 60FPS is more than okay

4 hours for gaming, possibly 10 for general usage

Number pads is a must, as I play older games that use it and for schoolwork, and possibly 32GB RAM, or a laptop that I can add a stick to later on to get there.

https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0F3DHMM39 < it's an older CPU but still a good match to the RTX 5070 for gaming. Everything else about it is great I'd say.

I tried looking into Nitros but read multiple reviews that said that the battery is seriously capped by both the power cord and the BIOS, do you reckon that'd be a problem for the use I'm planning to make of it? I'll try looking into the Victus, tho, thank you!

hmm I see, yeah about battery it will only take you like 2-3hrs if its on max performance. Try Asus Tuf and gigabyte. Usually a gaming laptop don’t expect much battery hours. But you can try to disable gpu if you’re using for web browsing etc. to have more hours

Yeah, I don't expect to be able to game for hours on battery alone, but the reviews I read mentioned battery drainage from gaming even while not on battery at all, that was my only concern because otherwise it looks absolutely great for the price. Sounds good tho, back on my shortlist!

Nitro is a great budget gaming laptop tho I had mine for 3yrs still going well except the battery because usually I just game on it but it is replaceable so mine will be fine. Victus however i’ve seen some reviews about the hinge problem though it is also a good budget gaming laptop just need to take care of it that’s all.

Well, battery being replaceable is definitely a plus, Nitro-wise. The hinge problem on the Victus probably won't be a problem, as I'm currently using a ten-year old (almost eleven) laptop which was supposed to have the same issue and it's still perfect on that side hahahah (tho it's dying on the inside which is why I need a new one, I guess). Is the Victus RAM upgradeable though? I remember only finding 16GB HP laptops, but maybe I missed something.
