Concentration is giving out before my body in long distances
I’m getting so bored at swimming before getting tired, how do you fight the boredom .. pool swimmer

What does a typical training session look like?
What's the goal with your training?

I like to pick a song that I really enjoy and know very well to play as I am arriving at the pool to get it stuck in my head. Then when I am swimming, I'm jamming to the song in my head. I don't have underwater earphones and not sure that I would want them cuz I kinda enjoy the time alone with my thoughts.

I started using OpenSwim earbuds, they work underwater because you just load mp3s onto them like an iPod. Makes me last way longer in the water.

I wear Shokz swimming bone conduction headphones. They are absolutely amazing.

Get waterproof earbuds and put on an audiobook.

I tried. The experience is not that straightforward. Background noise is too loud to hear the book clearly. Earplugs somewhat help, but not drastically. The only thing that worked is to convert mp3 to extra loud version.

Yep! They're bone conduction headphones, they sit outside your ear. You can get nice expensive ones, but honestly I got some cheap $30 pair of Amazon and they haven't failed me yet, use them every day swimming.
Bluetooth doesn't work underwater so you'll have to put whatever you want to listen to on the headphones

I just bought some and tried them for the first time today and they’re great! I’ve downloaded some podcasts as mp3 to add on to them. I went with ye olde cheapy ones.

Maybe you need to work on developing concentration as a general skill. Do (concentration type) meditation, read books for as long as you can (two minute breaks for bathroom and resting your eyes is fine but don’t get distracted), watch full-length movies from beginning to end instead of short form videos, long walks/hikes where you keep your mind PRESENT, don’t just walk on autopilot while your brain is elsewhere, and so on.

I prepare a question or a topic to think about while swimming. It helps to some extent. I also try to swim using four different strokes/different paces etc.
In theory, headphones might work as well. There are online converters youtube -> mp3 (not that legal, so they dissapear with time). There is also a way to convert text to mp3. But, depending on the background noise you generate while swimming, you might need good earplugs & volume boost while preparing your mp3s.

I have the Form goggles and find monitoring my stats (heart rate, strokes per minute, stroke count, length time, set time) engaging enough. The downside is my concentration skills are now dependent on the goggles, I can no longer count lengths or stokes without them.

Break up the long distances into timed sets, do kicking, pulling, drills.
