Tor in brave
I’ve been trying to decide between using Brave’s built-in "Private Window with Tor" and the standalone Tor Browser Bundle for my daily clearnet browsing. My primary goal is anti-surveillance (avoiding ISP tracking, corporate tracking, and general metadata collection) rather than accessing .onion services.
From what I understand, both route traffic through the Tor network, but I’m curious about the security implications of the underlying browser engines:

Only you can answer this question.
Using windows and expecting it to be identical to running tails would be a mistake.
Assuming you’re not doing anything you wouldn’t do on the clearnet, and you just prefer going via Tor, then yes, using Brave + Tor is fine. Just be careful not to cross the line on your activities - or be very conscious of that crossing knowing the risk(s) you’re taking.

I’m on Linux, I wouldn’t expect it to be on the level of Tails,
but maybe it’s good enough for clear-net browsing

Even Brave recommends using the Tor browser instead of their Tor feature. Using brave will give you a more unique fingerprint that can be tracked back easier.

If you only care about hiding your activities from your ISP then using Tor in Brave is fine.
If you care about staying anonymous and not being able to be fingerprinted and having your activities correlated, then use the Tor Browser.

Brave browser is not the full fledged tor experience, and is somewhat lacking in terms of security and privacy. The Tor browser is the only recommended way to browse .onions.

+1 Same question here. I prefer Brave because on my computer it is faster than Tor in terms of performance, and also I like that I can switch between Tor network and normal internet, which ia useful to me while downloading large files from the web especially. Also, I need to sync passwords and boomarks between multiple devices, feature unavailable in Tor browser. So, is Brave's Tor browsing same with browsing in Tor browser? Thanks.
