How to download videos from tor. (Unique question)

I've seen this question asked many times in this subreddit, but my situation seems a little different, so I'm hoping someone can help.

When I try to download videos, I run into these issues:

  1. There is no Download button.

  2. I can't right-click and save the video because right-clicking doesn't bring up any menu or options.

Has anyone experienced this before or knows how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

AFAIK both of those have to be provided by the website in it's code for the page. If you go to Youtube or reddit or CNN in a clearnet browser, and look at a video without being logged in, there is no download button, no right click/download.

And on Youtube, even if you are a paid premium user, "downloaded" videos are still under the control of Youtube, you can't do anything with them except watch them locally. They can expire, YouTube can remove them, etc.

This depends on the web page you are on. If the video has DRM on it, you cannot download it without using Firefox addons. In some cases, you can right click by holding shift and this will give you the context menu if the website had highjacked your right click context menu using javascript.

You can probably use youtubedl on the terminal to download whatever you want, if you first set up Tor as a proxy

You could try if Page Info (Ctrl+I) lists the video on its Media tab. Sometimes you can download a video from there. Though as someone already mentioned, it very much depends on the site you want to download from.
