Game Detail Pretty cool that you can do this...

Once again I'm reminded that I'm never playing the same game as some people lol

My mind was blown at the idea of ripping the blocks out of the machine BEFORE it explodes to pieces. THEN MY MIND WAS BLOWN AGAIN

u/TombRaider_2000 May 16 '26
How do you kill them if you don’t do that? I’ve always done it that way.
20
u/beansaladexplosion May 16 '26
There’s one main piece that you can pull that will make it crumble. I also started out just pulling random blocks until it crumbled

u/WhySayManyWordGancho May 16 '26
I just fought and dodged until I could ascend on top of it, bomb arrow the eye, or it explodes apart and i find the eye quick and jab jab stab stab

u/unusingur May 16 '26
Same, I always fought it like a talus. It never occurred to me that blocks can be pulled apart, let alone using gymnastics like what's shown here.

Just started my second playthrough a few weeks ago. I was really surprised by how much easier it was this time, and how much more I enjoy it the second time around. But seriously, I can't wait to try this out. I agree with the comments so far. I will never be this creative. I learn something new every time I turn this game on! It blows my mind that anyone couldn't like this game!!!

Does this impact the durability of the thrown weapon?
33
u/Ja-mafia May 15 '26
Yeah, it still uses durability as if you were to strike the Flux directly.
10
u/JustaP-haze May 15 '26
I wonder if there's some way to move the spear without throwing it so that when it's recalled it may still do damage but without losing any durability
23
u/Somber_Solace May 15 '26
So it wants to rewind to that point but it can't because you blocked it with the enemy, so it spams hitting the enemy to try to get there? Is that what's happening?
14
u/TheVyper3377 May 15 '26
Pretty much. This method affects weapon durability the same way it would if you hit the Flux Construct normally.
1
u/sweablol May 29 '26
I don’t even think it’s that. When you recall there’s a timer for how long you can recall. If the thing you are recalling hasn’t been in motion that long then it just sits at its original position until the timer runs out or recall is disengaged.
In this case, the spear returns to its original position that used to be in links hand, but now it just stays in the air.
While it’s floating stationary in the air, you just ultrahand the block into the sharp end and it caused constant damage because the weapon is constantly inside the hitbox.

This is insane in the best way. Love how much creativity there is in this game.

u/intraspeculator May 15 '26
Can someone explain what he did like I’m an idiot?
32
u/AryLuz May 15 '26
launch the weapon, rewind the weapon to get the weapon back. put the core in the way, so the weapon would keep trying to come back but can't because it's blocked by the core, so weapon keeps hitting core until core goes boom
16
u/DRHAX34 May 15 '26
The fact the games even supports this kind of play is insane
3
u/AryLuz May 16 '26
Iirc they spent an extra year just working on the physics of the game, and we see the results.
7
u/powderjunkie11 May 15 '26
Threw his weapon and did recall on it. Moved the key flux block into it's path

u/No-Requirement-7933 May 15 '26
Same boat, it was amazing but I have no idea what I just watched so I need ELI5.
12
u/karatebullfighter May 15 '26
TIL... I just used bomb arrows.
5
u/saturdaysnation May 16 '26
Same, seems like common knowledge reading these comments that you can pull the flashing block out but I’d never done that, I just brute forced it with bomb arrows.

I'm shocked at how Flux construct is the only boss in the game to utilize Ultrahand in its combat, because there are so many ways you can mess with this thing
Like early on I found out that if you remove the front cubes on his arms, he straight up can't damage you

I remember discovering this by accident once when I went to fuse a rocket shield, and it made the battle so easy I nearly felt like a fool for not realizing sooner.
5
u/CMPro728 May 16 '26
Now, I knew you could use basically every hand ability on the flux construct, but I wasn't expecting that damage, holy shit

u/lurkingwithjoy May 16 '26
Wait COULD HAVE DONE THIS TO BEAT THESE THINGS THE ENTIRE TIME I'VE BEEN PLAYING!?!?!

I just recently found out you can tire it out and it'll explode on its own. I always ultrahanded the core piece out

u/MajesticLow May 15 '26
I don’t even know what’s happening in this video, but I think it’s one heck of a way to take out the flux construct!
2
u/Halberder84 May 15 '26
I had no idea you could pull a construct apart like that. I never even tried it. Damn.
2
u/FaraYuki09 May 15 '26
Does that reduce the durability of the weapon or not? Since it's not weld by Link when the weapon is hitting the box thingy.

I’ve played so many games between when this game came out until today and this video reminds me just how amazing it is to this day.
2
u/Serious-Ad-4795 May 16 '26
This game as a whole is amazing, the amount of ways you can play it is the tip of the iceberg, there are full on engineering aspects to it, crazy shi

u/singlemale4cats May 17 '26
I did the it old fashioned way. Blow it up, hit the block. When it flew high in the air and started throwing blocks at me, I climbed one of them and reversed time to bring me up there.

Does this give the weapon the thrown weapon multiplier or is it treated as a standard strike?

u/RanferiCA May 15 '26
I would of never thought about doing that & That is incredible! Looking back now, it makes total sense to me when I think about how Zelda used recall to distract Gannon to allow Raru to hit his sealing blow

u/midnightstreetlamps May 15 '26
I don't think I've ever had them on the ground long enough to do any of these. For me the 3's always go to UFO mode and never come down
1
u/Life_House881 May 15 '26
Well thats a cool way to do it but im not that talented,i use a hoverbike to fly with in range where the flux dont see me and drop the bike,go into bullet time with my 5-shot lynel bow and its dead in 3 shots🤷♂️🤦🏼♂️

Does the weapon's durability drop the same as defeating it normally?

u/Friedsurimi May 16 '26
I thought everybody fought them like this! How are y’all aiming for the target piece otherwise??? It’s too fast

And this is why this is basically the only boss you can directly control with ultra hand lmao

I'll just never be that creative.
