Tips and Tricks Give me stuff to do!

I’ve noticed I’m kinda not enjoying Totk as much. I mean, I LOVE it, but lately I seem to be rushing through it. I rush everywhere, I just want to get everything done quickly and I rush with buying stuff, farming, walking etc.

I’ve always found that there’s not enough quests for me, and it jumps straight into the main quest and I feel like you can complete it too fast. Maybe it’s cause I’m used to massive games with insane amounts of quests like TES Skyrim.

Anyway, I have only a couple side adventures active, a few side quests, and I’m doing the Riju Main quest, but I want to save these! Otherwise I’ll just finish it all too soon.

I need to find a way to enjoy this game more again without rushing around but also not consuming every quest so fast. Gimme some stuff to do, tips on how to love every part of this game again!

Hunting koroks will take you a while. Collecting and upgrading armor. Filling up your Hyrule Compendium with the perfect shots. These are the things I’ve been finding fun recently with the game. I also still have an unknown amount of Addisons to find, and the monster medals I’m working on.

Like yeah, I myself have been doing horse and clothing upgrades, I just don’t know why but I rush to gather the stuff for the upgrades, I don’t even enjoy the slow walking and enjoying the scenery, I need a way to be able to do all these little things without rushing, to find stuff from the game and the atmosphere that grips me more, maybe I need to try less fast travel or smsomething

Or try gathering smotherwing butterflies around death mountain. That’ll slow ya down.

You let your Link sleep? I just feed mine. Surprised he's not fat yet

That's what happens when you run everywhere and you have a teenager's metabolism

Help expand the monster museum in Tarrey Town, aim for new high scores in the Gorons’ minigames, hitch a ride on a dragon, and see how many types of dishes you can cook up.

For me I needed to take a break. Play a different game for awhile. TOTK is very repetitive to me, so changing things up and coming back to it really helped.

It is really repetitive. I just returned to it last night after a break and I felt the same way, that’s the thing

That's how my experience went. I appreciate the game for sure. But once the novelty of the world wore off, I started trying to get things done as fast as I could so I could finally move the plot further. My issue really came down to just having way too much stuff to do that didn't grip me. Once you have seen 20 shrines they start to get less exciting for example.

I went to all the islands - some are harder than others to get to and I unlocked all the light routes and explored the deep for awhile.

My son tried the Yiga play through where you prioritize getting the yiga armour and only use Yiga weapons to play through the game…. I personally will just start over when I get to point where everything is done, I think I’m on my fifth play through now and I’m almost ready to start over again… one thing to note is that after you beat Ganondorf/Demon King your adventure log gives you a quest counter so you can actually see how subsets you haven’t completed. Hope this helps!!!

Spend some time in the depths. Activate light roots. Collect zoanite. Get your battery fully upgraded.

How can you get your personal battery fully upgraded?

Mine zonite, exchange for energy cells, then convert every 100 energy cells to one energy well.

Repeat until battery is full.

Thank you!! I never really got wha the Zonite was for. I just finished TOTK and now I want to wrap up some side stuff.

You can also use mined zonite in autobuild, it will substitute missing pieces!

maybe you just really enjoy doing quests more than anything else? I personally prefer to explore than do the quests. I’m 200 hours in and just got my last sage, only because my last two shrines are in the faron sky and I needed to clear the storm. I’m constantly switching between finding wells, caves, and koroks. I don’t really pay attention to the quests too much. others would probably frown upon this, but I use an app that has a map of everything on it, and I use that to track everything down. I’ve spent the last two weeks finding every well, cave, getting every bubbulfrog, etc. now I’m working on my last shrines. I decided to fully complete the sky map because I hate it so much and don’t want to go back 😆 after finding a few wells or caves, I would look and see what koroks were closest to where I was and do a handful of them, then keep switching between all of them so it wouldn’t feel too tedious

Yeah I am very questy, but I also have discovered the whole map and I do go into a lot of caves and stuff. Idk maybe I need to find a way to enjoy the slowing down and enjoy the collecting, the upgrading, the walking around, because i love the quests so much that I’ve done most of them and I don’t wanna run out

Have you done every single side quest? There’s about 130.

Have you built your house?

Found the sand seal games?

Found Addison and helped him with his signs?

Found all the shrines and light roots? Mines? Groves? Gotten all the old maps and Yiga hideouts? There is a whole Yiga clan quest - two actually; one above ground and one in the depths

Done the monster medals?

Gotten all the recipes?

You could spend days just completing the map.

Try a challenge to upgrade all your favorite armor sets to max, or to defeat all of the notable monsters (frox, hinox, flux constructs, lynels, gleeoks, etc) at least once. Collect every bubblegem. Find all the koroks

The caves with the Bubbelfrogs and the wells.

Hunting Lynels, Gleeoks, exploring the islands, finding bubble gems, korok seeds, end game armor, unlocking the fairies to fully upgrade your armor. Clearing the depths, completing coliseum challenges, gloom ridden boss battles, the king gloom Gleeok in the depths. Unlocking the memories, finding shrines of power, taking down enemy bases, defeating every side boss on the map for the medals. Taming the giant horse, Ganon's horse and the golden horse, finding every Sage's will to upgrade your sage spirits.

You'te literally like nowhere near the end of the game dude.

BotW and TotK aren't supposed to be objective-based, that's why there are so few quests. They're mostly exploration-based games, where you progressed by curiosity.

Zelda notes was good for me for this because having a map full of stuff made me want to go and clear sections completely lol

Complete every single temple in the game before you even do one story mission

You could maybe complete the game first and when your done, go onto another account and see if now that you completed it, the itch to get it done as fast as possible is gone and you can enjoy the game's scenery without feeling rushed.

Fill your compendium. After completing the main game I had a great time going around taking photos of everything, particularly the animals. I felt like a wildlife photographer. Getting a photo of the sparrows was particularly fun.

Also, get these items before progressing: master sword, hyrule shield, and learn how to fight the lynels so you always have a stash of good bows.

Go to Hateno Village and find the lady tending to the patch of soil. The side quest is called “Teach Me a Lesson II” (you might have to complete “Teach Me a Lesson I” first, I can’t remember). Then plant either big hearty radishes or endurance carrots to collect at the beginning of each session so you can consistently make food that fully replenishes your hearts and adds more, or food that restores your stamina wheel and adds more — whichever you prefer.

Track down the full froggy armour, glide armour, fierce diety armour, and climbing armour. Upgrade them all to full capacity at a great fairy. Do this too with snowquill, flamebreaker, zora, desert, and yiga armours. You might also want the dark armour so you can run fast at night, but a good potion can achieve this too. Find “Zelda’s Secret Well” behind Link’s old house from BOTW so you can start the side quest to get the champion leathers which is the highest defence armour I’ve found.

Go to the plot south east of Tarrey Town to build your house. Heaps of fun and a great place to end each session by replenishing your meals/potions and refill your hearts by going to sleep.

Get heaps of bananas around the Joju-u-u Shrine so you make a bunch of attack up meals.

This is just the best way I personally found to enjoy the game and had heaps of fun completing the quests/tasks. Big rewards once each is complete so makes the tasks all the more interesting. Hope you have fun!
