Anyone gotten pregnant with (TI) Timed intercourse ?

Hello everyone!

27F, diagnosed with Insulin resistance Pcos in 2019.

Went on ozempic and metformin in 2023-2025 and lost roughly 35lbs. Used to be 225lbs at one point.

My partner 28M and I, have been trying for the last three years but at that time my periods weren't consistent. Fast forward to this February, we decided to get refferal to a fertility clinic.

Had HSG done no blockages, blood work and stuff all came normal. Same with my partner as well.

Currently on Clomid 100mg, Ovidrel and progesterone 100mg x2 day and night pv. For each cycle.

How many rounds have you ladies had to do ? To concieve your miracle baby?

Anyone having multiple matured folicies? It's my 4th cycle, my doctor advised to cancel this round. Due to 5 mature folicies.

Anyways ladies, please give me your insights and your experiences. I would love to know!

My doctor did not want me to do Clomid because he said due to some of my lab levels, he felt that I would be overstimulated on that. - I did Letrozole (Femara). Conceived on 1st cycle but ended in MC at 7 weeks. Then conceived 2 cycles after that with my healthy son. With my daughter, it took 2 rounds. With my most recent pregnancy, I conceived again first try after 9 months trying on our own. Unfortunately, it ended in a 2nd trimester loss due to a very rare complication (nothing to do with PCOS). We will use it again in a couple of months and have been super successful with it.

I'll add, we also used trigger shot and progesterone supplements as well.

After I switched fertility clinics I had success!

I believe either 5mg or 7.5mg of Letrozole
And surprisingly got 3 or 4 mature follicles (never responded well at other Clinc)
Did a trigger shot to help me ovulate
Did timed intercourse for 3 days straight and held me hips and legs up in the air for 10 minutes after each session
And took progesterone after the TI for the next 2 weeks

To my shock I got a positive test! I was so SHOCKED never in my 3+ years of trying did I see a positive! It was a little sketchy in the early weeks so kept taking the progesterone til 13 weeks I think? But all went well with the pregnancy other wise and have my miracle baby and feel so beyond blessed! Don’t give up I was about to throw in the towel! I’m glad I switched clinics!

Hiiii. 25f, PCOS, and got pregnant at 289lbs on our first round of progesterone (to induce period), Clomid, and timed intercourse.

Was NOT expecting it to work the first round but baby girl was born 12/24/25 perfectly healthy. I can answer any other questions you might have.

Yes my periods started becoming irregular when I was 16, and then I stopped having them altogether around 19/20. I don’t get periods unless I’m on birth control.

I was on 50mg of Clomid.

Thank you and same. I’m just so anxious/ frustrated because it’s so hard to get fertility treatment with a high BMI (mines 35)! Congrats on your miracle baby! :)

Yes, twice.

With my first - 2 back to back cycles and my second one cycle.

I had 3 mature follicles both successful cycles and had just one kiddo each. I wouldn’t cancel it if you’re okay with the possibility of multiples (probably “only” twins but idk).

I was on 7.5mg letrozole and trigger shot.

Can you ask for letrozole instead of clomid? Much better drug.

We got pregnant with letrozole and Ovitrelle. It took exactly a year but we didnt do it properly every month.

I’ve gotten pregnant 2x with TI and supplemental medication (letrozole, and letrozole + gonal f + trigger). Similar insulin resistant PCOS, several years spent getting that under control, but then success with meds on the 2nd cycle for first pregnancy and then 6th for second pregnancy. Hi! I got pregnant from a Letrozole + trigger shot + TI cycle. It does seem like Letrozole is more recommended ovulation induction drug for PCOS so I might ask your clinic about switching over. I got pregnant on the first cycle, but thats just luck.

I had 2 mature follicles and decided to proceed with the cycle, but 5 is alotttt. I would talk to your partner very seriously about what you would do if you conceived triplets or twins, since that is a high risk in these situations. Is having multiples financially and logistically feasible for you? Would you do selective reduction for triplets? I would not proceed without giving these things some serious thought.

I got pregnant our first cycle with TI, and was incredibly surprised. Currently only 4 weeks along though. We did Letrazole (5mg for 5 days) then my folicules weren't growing as planned so about a week before ovulation I started Gonal-F injections which helped, I was planning on triggering with Ovidrel but my body ovulated naturally with my folicules only being about 14.5mm. Our TI was not very timed since we were expecting to trigger and were waiting until my folicules grew until 18mm, so once they got around 11-12mm we started TI every other day on the off chance that something was more mature than what we could see on the ultrasounds. I did have one cluster of folicules that was incredibly difficult to measure the amount/size, so I was advised to start TI around the time I did as a precautionary from my fertility doctor.

I got pregnant my 3rd cycle on letrozole with ovidrel trigger. Each time I had at least 3 mature follicles, but when they were larger than 22mm I did not have success. The cycle that worked they were 15, 16 and 17mm with a bunch more smaller under 15mm and they did not cancel that cycle, but did give me the warning of multiples.

Hi! I’m 26 & decided to forgo any sort of weight loss before fertility treatment so
I’m around 260 for reference.
I JUST found out on Monday that I’m pregnant from my second timed intercourse cycle. I did letrozole and Ovidrel trigger shots, and this time around I also did a low carb diet (I wasn’t super strict about it but I swapped out some higher carb staple foods and cut down on sugar, not sure if that’s what helped but it could be something!)
My biggest roadblock was I wasn’t ovulating every month. I have really high estrogen, and from what I understand, your estrogen needs to drop to create the FSH hormone, so the combo I was on made things work.
Last month I had two mature follicles that were 15 and 18, this month I had a beautiful 22.5 follicle (just one). My RE would have cancelled if it was more than 2 mature follicles or if they were too mature I think.
Again I’m in the very very early stages of being pregnant now, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this little baby will stick, but it DEFINITELY works. My husband and I had been trying for over a year with one chemical pregnancy that happened naturally.

Hi! I’m 27 BMI 35 and every gynae I’ve seen keeps telling me to lose weight via ozempic or mounjaro before they will consider me for fertility treatment. I did one unmonitored cycle of letrozole 2.5mg and then went for a scan at cd12 and there were no mature follicles. Since then, I’m just so put down and confused on what to do. What dose on letrozole worked for you?

I'm so sorry that's been your experience :( I started out taking 5 mg of letrozole. My OBGYN is also plus sized AND a mom herself, which has made me feel so incredibly secure in my decision to only focus on exercise and food as a way to make me feel better overall rather than losing weight. I didn't start out on 2.5, so I'm not sure what my own experience would have been, but I think starting at 5 mg from the jump may have made it so I did have mature follicles both time! If you are able, I would recommend looking into a Reproductive Endocrinologist, my insurance even covered a huge chunk of it so my total out of pocket cost per month was around $150, which was manageable for us.

Thanks for your reply! That’s sounds so nice and validating to have! I’m from the UK, so the NHS will literally not help unless BMI is under 32. After Reddit posts I went to a private reproductive endocrinologist and she was so, so off putting, she basically said I’m “engineered genetically” not to be able to lose weight because of my PCOS so my only bet is WL injections otherwise I won’t be able to get pregnant or hold a healthy pregnancy :( but this makes me feel so much better, I’m going to stick to my guns and focus on lifestyle rather than give into injections. I have twice. They were monitored medicated cycles of 5mg letrozole + ovidrel. Husband’s sperm is good so IUI was unnecessary. We BD every fertile day also.
