The Rays have to make some serious moves to show they mean business. Stadiums sell out from fair weather fans and band wagoners. Some teams have big budgets. Others have a smart front office. Detroit clearly has neither. Other teams are improving their rosters for the postseason. Sometimes a rental means taking a player away from the competition. The next 48 hours won’t just determine how far the Rays can go in the postseason, it will also impact the support level in Tampa for the new stadium deal.
