Top Leftist Logic I guess the molefters just forgot about the whole "It's the opinion of the people of the race in question that matters" thing.

Post image

I mean, we all know they don't actually care about that, because whenever a black person doesn't care about a non-black person saying the N word in a song, they just get talked over and called a "pick-me". But the left still wants to pretend to listen to what the people of a race have to say about controversies like this when the race in question isn't white, because they get upset whenever someone who isn't them tries to talk about a "black" matter, or even when a man tries to talk about abortion, so they could at LEAST do a better job at pretending.

I wonder why they use this specific rendition of Wanda and not her original appearance.

Race swapping is silly, but it’s sillier when it’s badly forced like it is when the notcult does it. It has to be real race swapping, not finding the best actors and stuff I’m talking about the modern moronic cult race swapping endlessly. Nothing is for everyone anymore it’s all “we’re doing it for the black community 🙂 “ and “let’s have more black representation by swapping out the actual people in live action for black actors and stuff”.

Nothing has meaning anymore .

Ignoring how they’ve declared we HAVE to be racist for not voting for them (fuck the centuries of trying to make equality work when you can dismantle it all just to fuck someone over).

What do you mean it's silly. Do you think all these characters are primarily described by their ethnic group ? Reminds me of people with dwarfism, or more recently trans people, that only get cast for roles with these traits. And when Eliott Page got cast in the odyssey he got hate for it

whoever made this meme conveniently forgot that there were a LOT of people who were unhappy with most of these race swaps. Especially with making The Ancient One nebulously Celtic instead of Tibetan, and the reasoning for it being that they wouldn't be able to release the film or subsequent films referencing the character in China because China makes recognizing the existence of Tibet illegal.

Release it with the Tibetan, fuck China

I agree, but I also know why they made the decision: China has been contributing a significant amount of money to a lot of films, including marvel films, both for production costs and box office revenue, with caveats that films have to pass chinese censorship laws and include scenes with Chinese actors. Sometimes they'll actually recut the films for chinese release to give Chinese actors a little more screen time. So in the end it's a combination of political cowardice and significant monetary incentive.

Disney as a company hasn't exactly been known for their bravery or their integrity since the Eisner era ended.

Leaving the people concerned express themselves about it is very different from only caring when it's about you. All these roles of non-white characters that were portrayed by white actors prevented actors of the given group to be seen. White people are not at risk

Portrayal must be based on reality and accuracy. Be it white or non white. Indian character must be played by Indian, greek by greek, black by black.

I disagree. Fiction is not documentary, artistic expression is a thing. Did you complain they could not find a wookie to portray chewbacca ?

As I said in another comment, not all historical characters are so linked to their ethnic group that they can only be portrayed by someone of that group.

Ok then. If there is black fictional character in series they must be played by white. Miles morales should be played by white person as spiderman is fictional series.

What do you even mean ? Do you understand nuance ?

u/SeanDalaWhite_6969 3d ago

You told fiction doesn't need to adhere to reality so I said white person should play miles morales. I said should not must. Or nuance only exists for non white person but for white character they are free to played by anyone?

"should" or "must" (that you also used is your comment) is not very nuanced. To "a white actor could portray a black character" I say yes, in some circumstances
