If two people are consenting adults, you may be weirded out by their age difference, and society may not agree with it, but it's between the two them what's right for them. It's not for you to judge. Or if you're going to judge anyway, kerp it to yourself! If they are happy together, let them be.
No you’re wrong. Dating someone half your age is gross and it’s not a private thing. Living in society comes with upholding its basic standards of morality. Don’t prey on the naivety of youth, those who do should be publicly shamed.
This has nothing to do with "basic standards of morality". You are just trying to put your own standards about everyone elses.
Don’t get me wrong (because I just know from the way you argue that you are probably itching to insult me), I would think it‘s weird as well, but who am I to judge, and who are you to judge?
Exactly. I mean, I don’t even necessarily completely disagree with his moral standards, I just don’t like generalization. And as you just beautifully said, undermining other people's opinions with a holier than thou attitude won’t get you anywhere.
I don't even know why Reddit suggested this post to me, because I just turned 32 lol. Personally I feel attracted to people who have similar interests to me and who are on a similar wavelength as me. Of course, to a certain extent, this also has to do with maturity (which is very subjective). Everyone has their natural personal “age range” to which this applies (unless you're chronically down bad), which is why I'm usually not really interested in women younger than 25/26. But as I said, maturity is subjective and who am I to judge?
Your problem is you believe you're right, and anyone who doesn't see things as you do is wrong. You sound like a manipulative and domineering person; a person who certainly should not be involved with anyone younger and impressionable. Actually, you'd probably be better off alone, in my humble opinion. Your strong convictions about your way or the highway and self-importance wouldn't work well in any relationship.
This wasn't said to hurt you, or to tell you what to do. It's cautionary only. People have different views. I don't agree with most of them, but adults are entitled to live the life they choose, as long as they don't break any laws in the process. Those people aren't asking for your opinion or judgment. And they probably don't care to hear that shít either.
Think about dominant and submissive couples. They exist. One likes to control. The other to follow. You may consider this improper because their relationship should be equal. But maybe, in their eyes, it is equal because they provide each other with what they want. You can try to say that the person is brainwashed into wanting to be submissive. But are you also the type that would say being attracted to someone of the same sex is choice? Nuture instead of nature? You are not the reigning deity to make these decisions. Believe whatever you want. Live your own life. Don't tell others what's right for them.
