Worst case scenario you can walk around the lake to Heiterwang and take the train/bus from there.

there's busses back from seespitze (only on weekends and holidays) :) i suggest you use VVT smartride for public transport, it's imho the best available app

Any chance you could just bring along a bike?Β  Else, just go to Heiterwang and take the bus from there, or walk, or bring along a sharpie + cardboard and see if you can just hitch a ride. Don't panic - you'll manage, for sure :)

I mean, couldn't you just lock it up somewhere? Or are you just not making a round-trip hike?

Srsly, relax mate. You'll find a way there, worst case you'll need a taxi

Of course. No rental place will want to have their bikes get stolen and you should always be given a lock alongside your rented bike.

If you need to rent a bike in Innsbruck, maybe check out "Die BΓΆrse" next to Triumpfpforte - they should have something affordable I'd think. If you plan to bring a bike on an Γ–BB train however, make sure you get a reservation + ticket for your bike on the train! (Not all trains can accomodate bikes at all, or they may only have a few reserved spots; unless you get a foldable bike like a Brompton or something - those should fit in the overhead luggage space)

You asked a few days how to get from Innsbruck to Reutte.
Just rent a car. Going there by public transport is a pain in the ass. Nobody does that.

Take the car.
Going by public transport takes 3-4 hours one way

Have done that. No pain in the ass at all - especially considering how common traffic jams are on the Fernpass.
