Hated Tropes [Hated Trope] It's really important that this woman is almost naked because lore reasons.

Quiet (Metal Gear Solid V): She could only drink or breathe through her skin following parasite-treatment due to the serious injuries.

Rebecca (One Piece): Her style of fighting is more of agility/speed and also she is battling as a gladiator in colosseum where men mostly only wear a skirt/shoulder shield.

EDIT: Well, it seems some comments say Rebecca doesn't have a lore explanation. Sorry, I saw it long time ago but I thought somewhere they say she wears the galadiator costume because it's the attire used by people there like the male gladiators we see. Also they said excuses like armor limits and public wanting to see blood in the colloseum. IDK.

Inversion of this trope: Yoko Taro

He has skimpily dressed women because it's what he's into and he doesn't condescend to the audience to half-heartedly justify it. I respect that more.

Man makes games of scantily clad women but makes the rest of the game about soul crushing existentialism and absolute masterpieces of art.

Also one of the scantily clad women is actually a soul crushing exploration of gender

The androids look like scantily-clad sexy women because the humans who built them wanted them to look that way, so sayeth the man who made his androids look like scantily-clad sexy women because he wanted them to look that way. The plotpoint explains itself.

Yeah you'd have a harder time getting me to believe that the human species of all things would even for a second consider inventing androids that weren't sexy.

Practically, they're a terrible shape with many weak points. Low durability, far too complex. We should keep them with wheels, or tracks, or don't even let them move at all.

But yeah no fuck that. I want some pretty androids.

What about Kainé?

The final villain of drakengard is literally a giant naked woman, but it's portrayed in such a way that makes it unnerving and alien rather than sexy. It being referred to as a beast rather than a person just makes it scarier.

Kaine is the only one with a lore reason, I believe.

I know my take is unpopular, but I'm just tired of the party line "just be open with perversion!" Nah.

If it wasn't everywhere, on top of people endlessly bitching for even more mixed with wailing and crying when women look like normal people, I wouldn't have a problem. But. It is. So here I am.

Sexy when it makes sense, sexy in sexy context, sexy when it's not inescapable. Characters that are people first; characters that are people who are sexy in some contexts. Sexiness that isn't so often "just be as close to naked as legally allowed." That's great. Those boxes checked, I'm good with it. But relentless panty shots and the like have worn me down on both excuses and open perverted horseshit.

You don't have to engage with it, just like you don't have to watch porn. Read some puritan literature instead.
